Hi,

F70 and F71 are two logic board error codes that point at a communication error between the main logic module and the control pad (user interface and CCU), and between the motor control unit and central control (MCU, andd CCU that is main control module).
Repair is difficult, as motor, wiring and voltages from control modules must be tested.

Try first doing a reset, by disconnecting power cord or tripping circuit breaker and leaving power off for five minutes.

If that does not help and errors come back, then the best thing to do is calling the service number listed on the user manual.

Here extensive explanation of error codes and relative troubleshooting:

F70: CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the Central Control Unit to the User Interface.

1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving

F71: USER INTERFACE HEARTBEAT FAILURE
If a Central Control Unit Heartbeat Failure is displayed, no communication is detected from the User Interface to the Central Control Unit.

1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving.

To get parts and diagrams try entering the full model number in one of the websites below:

Enter the model number ..

To contact a repairer, call the number listed on the owners manual or use the Fixya directory (US only)

Thanks

SOURCE: When we try to start Washing machine (Kenmore

Apparently this problem "Suds" and "F35" error codes is happening to a lot of people ~ If you do not have any clogged hoses, then the Analog Pressure Switch is more than likely the issue.

Here's the downside, the problem is so wide spread that the part is back ordered for weeks. You would think that SEARS Extended Warranty Service would keep this part in stock so their customers are not without a brand new washer for over a month!

SOURCE: Whirlpool Front Loader Washer Model# WFW9600

I had a suds error and then a F 35 error. Turns out I had a collection of junk and debris between the door seal and the drain at bottom of door. Cleared out the debris now my washer is running like a top. (washer senses pressure error, thats why I got said error codes)

SOURCE: F1 appears on my machine within a few minutes when

I actually had the same problem and read some other blogs and found that this is a control board issue. Whirlpool actually had a recall on these boards and should cover the part and labor to fix. I called them today at 1-800-253-1301 and they are coming out to fix my washer this week. When you call they just need the model number and the serial number. Both can be found just inside the lid on your washer. Good luck!

SOURCE: What does code F70 and F71 mean on my whirlpool duet?

Error code F70 means no communication is detected from the Central Control Unit (CCU) to the User Interface while F71 is the reverse; no communication detected from the User Interface to the Central Control Unit (CCU). This could simply mean a loose or poor connection between the two communicating boards.

Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the three screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the washer then slide the panel rearward and lift it off the washer.

Disconnect the User Interface ribbon connector from the left side of the Central Control Unit (CCU) and clean the connector and terminals thoroughly. Reseat the connector several times to ensure a good connection between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the User Interface.

It is highly recommended to clean and reseat every wiring harness connector from the Central Control Unit (CCU) to prevent the same problem in the near future.

Reconnect every wiring harness to the CCU and make sure all connectors are firmly seated. Slide the top panel back into position and secure it to the rear of the washer with the screws previously removed.

Let us know if the problem persists for further assistance. We will be happy to resolve your problem.

What does f70 overloads means

Sounds like either an amp problem or a fan problem. Either one can send a F70 code. Check and see if the rear fan is turning freely, it might just be dirty and can't spin easy

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F70 is a communication error which is caused when no communication is detected from the user interface to the CCU (central control unit). Please check the wiring to user interface and the central control unit, if that is fine and you can see the drum rotating then replacing the user interface is recommended repair. If the drum won't turn then the CCU needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a 5 month old samsung steam front loader that gives an error message of d5 . What does it mean and how do I fix it

the door is not sensing that it is closed. open it and re close the door again, make sure it is closed all the way, if it is and it still gives you this error, unplugg the machine, close and open the door again, and plug it back in and try again. if this doesn't work, you'll need to have a repairman take a look at your washer.

It gets almost top the end of the washing with "estimated time remaining" as 2 but it has not finished draining or spinning. The machine will not let me start another load or cycle

It is probably getting a suds reading. If the control senses excessive motor amp draw then that could mean too much soap. A built in program (you might call it the 2 minute warning) in most front loading machines will try and resolve the problem. It could also mean you have junk in the pump filter. The tech sheet is under the bottom panel. Consult it concerning the final countdown. themobilian_66.jpgthemobilian_67.jpgthemobilian_68.jpgthemobilian_69.jpg

Getting a fault code F70 on our 3000 series dryer? What does it mean and how do i fix it?

F70 = Overheating sensed causing dryer stop until temperature reaches(drops) below set level - determined by manufacturer
Can be caused by different contributing factors;
1. poor airflow
2. blocked air flow screen inside tumbler
3. clogged lint screen
4. slow tumbler (low revolutions)
NOTE;
Ironically, the fourth factor has been lurking behind the popular discussions on this problem that has exhibited itself on both the whirlpool and kenmore products with the main triage to have included inspection of the electrical connections made by the installer.
These electrical connections not followed properly with accordance to '4prong' NEMA 14-30R (30amp, 2-phase circuit outlet) with separate ground and neutral posts, as exhibited in the standard dryer installation manual, will cause your tumbler to run slow. Hence, the 4th factor which caused the 'F70' code stops the dryer from operating.
Now, you have corrected the wiring as necessary and eagerly place some stuff's in there and all seems well. But as soon as you place something large and wet (HEAVY/BUNDLE), you get the error code again, Geeeezzzzz, you thought you had it!
Okay, this is what you need to do;
1. make sure your air flow is adequate by really cleaning the duct (I stuck my hand through the wall duct and scraped off old hard lint that can collect humidity & even cut my finger). Also make sure your vent hose does not have any unnecessary elbows or squiggles in it ( I had an elbow/pan type and it is not good as the heat seems to reflect too much ). KEEP IT AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE - I KNOW IT'S HARD, BUT IT IS NECESSARY.
2. Refrain from using too many softener sheets as they can & will restrict the air flow screen inside the tumbler.
3. Make sure your lint screen is clean - wash it periodically as lint particles collect moisture and this in turn raised humidity.
4. Once you have verified your electrical connections as stated earlier in this posting, run a normal cycle with towels or something of the like so as to reset the sensors in the dryer.
What my wife keeps doing is to put a back in after it's Heavy Buncle cycle (because it's not fluffy) and the dryer start up with high heat and then senses over heat and then SHE GET'S THE FAMOUS F70. In cases like this, use the damp dry selection and that works great - or better yet just use the timed dry selection with low heat.
We just have to understand that someone sat down and figured out what and how they wanted to program the computer that determines how this particular machine is going to react.
THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT 'F70' SEEMS TO BE THERE TO PROTECT AGAINST OVERHEATING WHICH IN TURN CAN TURN TO A FIRE HAZARD!
