My phone recently froze after i took the sd card out so i could move all my photos to my new phone. Now my phone froze right after the opening screen popped up that says t-mobile. Now the screen stays like that unless I take the battary out and the call keys or back key doesnt work.

There we go again with those Samsung phones. All Samsung cell phones FREEZE-UP. This is a manufactor's defect. I would think Samsung would correct this problem by now. I guess they dont care as long folks like us still buying their phones. Well, if you so love Samsung phones and cant do without it, then I would advise you to take the battery out for a few second, but tomorrow when you doing something important on your phone it will FREEZE-UP again. Samsung should sell all their phones to Iraq, so that when the terroist press SEND to activate a bomb, the bloody thing FREEZES-UP and sames ome lives. For me, I would never buy a Samsung phones just because of this reason. THEY dont CARE.

Assign the key to another function. And then reassign it back to the main menu short cut. It worked for me.

If it's a new phone, take it to the place that you purchased from and have them check it out. Make sure you take your box, charger, and paperwork and receipts with you. Good Luck.

I think this a problem related to the flex cable that connects the main phone body to the sliding screen. Over time the flex cable wears down as it slides and results in a whole range or problems such as: display acting weird (eg. mirror-image and inverted colours), speaker not working, off-button not working etc.
Flex cables are cheap to buy on ebay (a few dollars) and there's internet sites that show you how to open the phone and replace them. (google: samsung u700 replacement flex cable)
