During a long print job, the printer just stopped with the yellow warning light flashing. No errant paper, no problem with toner, no misfeed, no jam. Power-down/power-on sequences have no effect. Does not power up, that is, no motors. Each time lights cycle between green and yellow, ending up with flashing yellow, completely silent. Hard reset does not work.
There actually was a misfed sheet, hidden at the very bottom of the lower hinged back panel. The reason it was misfed was that this panel had somehow gone off one of its hinges. Ironically I did not discover the misfed sheet until I had taken the printer down from its shelf and turned it over to read the serial number to the extended warranty tech support guy.
Moral: Open every panel carefully, check for misalignment. These printers have flimsy plastic parts.
