If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383 On exploded view diagram 4, look at reference part number 4. That is the choke cover. It's held in place with hidden tabs. I've attached a diagram from a Sharp model that will be somewhat similar. Once the choke cover's off, the hardware should be visible. The diagrams do not show the hinged at all. That may mean they're welded to the chassis of the oven. Write back if this does not clear it up.

Replace door

If you're replacing the entire door, this is a very simple process that only requires you to open the door all the way and lift straight up at the hinges. The door lifts off the hinge pins, and the new one can be reinstalled by aligning it back on the hinge pins. (You may have to remove the hinges from the old door and install them on the new one on some models). NOTE: In some cases you may have remove the upper grille guard to accommodate lifting the door. The mounting screws for the guard on located across the top of the oven. If you only need to replace the door handle, it can easily be replaced on MOST microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The door handle is a simple repair that can be done with the door in place, or with the door removed. You do not have to uninstall the oven if this is an over the range model.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Can I buy a new door. Current door is cracked on the corners.

You easily replace the door on most microwave ovens by opening the door all the way up and lifting straight up at the hinges. The door should lift off of the hinge pins. On some microwave ovens, you may have to remove the upper grill cover over the door (if equipped) to accommodate door removal.

NOTE: Some doors have a hinge pin that needs to be removed, or screws holding the door in place at the hinge.

There are several parts sources available that you can may try to purchase replacement parts:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

The first three sites on the list also offer helpful exploded view parts listings to aid in parts identification and location. Just type in your model number and locate the parts listing for the door. Some manufacturers only sell the door as a complete assembly. Others may sell individual parts. To save money, you may also try just purchasing the door facing parts that are cracked. If you have any questions, or require additional assistance, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this advice is helpful.

Faceplate of door by lower L/H hinge cracked. How do I remove the door to replace the Faceplate?

Front doors are attached inside the microwave at the top and bottom of the oven cavity. Top case has to come off using, likely, security torx screw drivers.
Remove the top hinge.
Remove the bottom hinge.
Door falls off.
Replace the front panel of the door.
Reinsert the lower hinge with the door, close and latch the door.
Holding the door firmly to the microwave, tighten the door hinge. Replace the top hinge.
(On some units, both hinges need to be installed at the same time. Use masking tape to hold the lower hinge - makes it easier.)

Need to Replace door on a sharp R1830 B how would I go about doing this?

On MOST microwave ovens all you have to do is open the door all the way and lift straight up at the hinges. The door simply lifts all the hinge pins. You may have to remove the upper grill cover (if equipped) to accommodate.

NOTE: On some models there is a small hinge pin on the upper hinge that you need to remove first.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

On the GE JVM 1650 Spacemaker microwave, how do I replace the door?

If replacing the entire door, all that is required is to open the door all the way open and lift straight up on the hinge side of the door. The door will lift off the hinge pins. You may have to remove the upper grill cover (if equipped) on some models for better access. If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a Kenmore model #721.89940490 The door handle broke off and need to replace it, I do not see any screws. how do I access the mounting screws.

You will probably need to take the MW down and remove the outer case to access the hinge for the door.

just received a new door assembly for my Kenmore microwave and spent about an hour searching for help with installation to no avail. , but managed to replace it by prying the small pin out with a flat head screwdriver and removing the door. I reused the pin (after straightening it), and it works great.

The door handle is secured with the two screws from inside of the door. In order to access them you have to remove the inner door frame. You can find how to remove it in the video clip from one of our previous posts.

How to replace the whole door unit

This should be a fairly simple procedure. To replace most microwave oven doors, all you have to do is open the door as wide as it will open and then lift straight up. The door will come off the hinge mounting pins and lift off. Install the new door by holding it in the open position and aligning it properly on the hinge pins. NOTE: On some models, you may have to remove the upper trim above the door. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.

Door Removal Sharp Microwave Model R-1611

The door comes off in a very simple way. Now...I'm speaking from the perspective of MOST microwave ovens. All you should have to do is open the door all the way to the left and lift straight up. The door has mounting pins that fit into a couple of hinge pin holes. If your oven is equipped with an upper panel grid, you may have to remove it, so the door will have more clearance. Putting the new door on is just as simple as lining up the pins in the door with the hinge pin holes and setting the door in place. Close the door slowly to make sure the pins are aligned with the holes properly. If not, the door will fall off while attempting to close. Let me know if this is helpful to you.
