My directtv keeps my phone line open even when the box is off.

You need to call direct tv and have then get you a new box, i have direct tv also and the box i got is technically theirs, ask them how much it would be though cuz they charge for everything. You could even just disconnect the phone line it only needs it for ordering PPV. However if its not plugged in they charge a 5 dollar fee, its a service fee or somethin like that, yah its dumb i know but they do.
