My dog is overweight and I don't want to take his treats away from him entirely. Can anyone suggest some good treats for a doggie on a diet?

I saw a good idea for overweight pets. They can have their treats (yes, low fat and low calorie if possible) but make the pet do increasing work for them, like running from one end of the backyard to the other, then in the park, to get the treat.

You should get your dog all-natural treats filled with proteins. I have located a great site about low-fat, all-natural treats for you to browse through.

My dog is on a diet, can I give him any treats?

If your dog is on a diet, you can still give him all-natural treats. You can also give him Low-fat treats, naturally nutritious, all-vegetable or grain-based healthy treats to keep him happy.

Do I need to buy a special kind of treat for my Maltese? She's so small and I don't want to give her something that may hurt her.

There are treats that are better to buy smaller dogs. I have a Boston terrier and also bought him small dog-specific treats. I will send you a few links; however you can also go to a local pet store and they will help you out.

Is fiber essential to dogs?

In general, dogs do not need fiber in their diet because they don't use energy from it.However, it does provide dogs with health benefits such as weight management. For more information on fiber in dogs food, check out this website: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?dept_id=0&siteid=12&acatid=284&aid=460
