When i make a drink no water comes out of the machine. I have cleaned it and run the cleaning and descaling program but still no water comes out. there are no warning lights to say there is a problem.
I found that the cleaning disk puts through the correct amount of water but coffee disks don't. Suspect then that the problem is related to the pressure or flow from the system when disks are in , or the cutter part. I have now bought a new machine. I can swap this part across and check to see if this issue with non delivery of correct quantity of water its related to the suggested worn cutter.
Most of the problems related to pumping the correct amount of water are related to the pressure relief valve stuck open. Clean it and your machine will work like new
There is a quick fix to this problem. There is a pressure relief valve located at the bottom of the heater which allows water to go back to the water tank if pressure gets to be too high. Especially after descaling, loose debris can get stuck in the valve leaving it open so water from the pump go right back to the water tank. How to fix: remove the left gray panel (when you looking at the front of the machine). To remove you need to insert screw drivers between the panel and the body, lift the panel and push the panel towards the back of the machine. Once you popped the panel off, look at the bottom of the heater and locate the tube going back to the water tank. Using a needle-nose plier, grab the valve at the bottom of the heater (where the tube is connected) and turn it about 30 degrees clock wise and gently pull. The cover of the valve will come off and you will see a spring pushing agents the valve. Pull the spring and the valve out, clean the debris and reinstall. You can try using the machine with the panel off to make sure you got all the dirt out of it. The machine will work like new.
i had it in the shed but skipped it yesterday, too late to fix it now, thanks anyway, i'll know this trick next time. i just never descale the new one and its been great, we don't have hard water here , the descaling light is triggered on a time basis i believe and not related to any realscale detection. i believe the descale is what causes the issue in the first place.

Sounds like you have descaled machine but forgot to replace or replace cutter disc correctly. The other possible problem is that the cutter is worn and needs replacing.

Solution: Just refill the water tank with water (no descaling solution) all the way to the "Max Line". Then run the full descaling program again --takes approx. 20 minutes. After the program runs completely you will get the yellow "standby" light on and the red "descaling" light will be off.
Next time you descale, be sure and fill your water tank to the "Max Line" before running the descaling program.
Hint: An incomplete cycle (not full tank) is what makes the red light stay on. In other words, it's staying red to tell you to run a full cycle (beginning with the water tank filled to the "Max Line"). Hope this tip is helpful!
SOURCE: red de scaling light won't shut off
Removing the red descaling light is simple.
1. Fill reservoir with half vinegar and half water (no need for the special descaling product from Tassimo).
2. Turn on machine.
3. Insert yellow cleaning disc found in back of machine.
4. This is where most people have the their problem...You must hold the start button for 3 to 5 seconds for the descaling program to start. Both green and red light will flash.
5. Once started, use a large cup to catch the output of water.
6. The machine will cycle through the descaling program in about 30 to 45 minutes. Be paitent!!!
7. Once completed, run many cups of plain water through the system to remove the vinegar taste.
8. Red light problem is solved.
Hope this works for you.
SOURCE: has anyone used vinegar to descale their tassimo
Never use vinegar to descale esrpresso machines since will destroy the copper parts in long terms. Vinegar is used onle on plastics and st. steel. Try to use special descaling powder which you can find online in ebay maybe
SOURCE: can i use a cheaper descaler solution
You can use any citric acid based descaling product.
Do NOT use vinegar (acetic acid) based products on the Bosch machines as this can damage the aluminium in the heater block.
