SOURCE: Hooking up surround sound to TV

You have to get an optical audio cord.

The optical output on the vizio is right next to the ac cord. Make sure that your audio amp has the same input conection.

I can not get my surround sound to work with my sony bravia HBD-E570 blue ray, while watching dish

I use HDMI cables for my blue ray DVD player, not sure if you do. If so, make sure surround sound is connected to your TV in the right jack. My surround system is old, so only uses RCA's (red, white, yellow). I plug mine into the audio out jacks (red, white) just below the HDMI 1 jack. Only the red and white are required for sound but also can use video (yellow) for higher quality. That is the main audio out. Plug into that and you should have all sound that is on your TV also sent to your surround system.

Surround sound hookup between my 2008 sony bravia and sony A/V surround sound receiver which is older.

the yellow on an RCA setup is a video signal not audio, so just hook up the yellow to video 1 and red /white to audio 1 or whatever number it happens to be

I have a vizio HDMI DTV telvision, and a sony surround sound system, I am trying to hook my wii to this to watch movies, the problem is I have hooked the yellow cable from the wii to the surround sound, I...

If you're using the HDMI cable with 5 wires, the red, blue and green wires are for video and the red and white wires are for audio. If your TV has a component IN RCA jacks, they connect there. If you're using the 3 wire cable, yellow is for video, and the red and white is for audio. You will NOT get HDMI pictures with this setup so you will have to go into the input selections and choose composite video input on the TV menu. Get a connection diagram from Visio's website or look in your owners manual if you have one.

.Connect them to the corresponding inputs

Hi there.
There is a scart cable connection on the tv, right! Buy a scart block with a switch on it with in/out switch. Plug it in the tv, put switch on out, plug yellow into yellow, red into red and black/white into black/white. Sound?

How to hook up wii to surround sound

You need to connect your amplifier to your TV, (Video Out of Amp to video In of TV), then select the input where you connected your WII in amp.
Or you could just connect the yellow plug to the TV directly, and the white and red plug to your amplifier.
A note thou, Red and White will not give "True" surround sound as it has only 2 channels, you need to connect a digital input to the amp to get true surround.

Let me know what happens

Help! Surround Sound problems!

Since you have a surround sound system, you probably should just bypass the TV's audio.

Connect the red/white plugs from your digital cable box to one of the inputs on your surround sound system but not the Phono input unless the Phono input lists something aside from Phono, like Aux/Phono or CD/Phono.

Connect the S-Video or composite (yellow) video plug from your digital cable box directly to the S-Video or composite (yellow) video jack on your TV.

If your digital cable box does not have a S-Video (4 pins and flat rectangular hole) or Composite (yellow RCA jack) jack and only has the screw/push-on type cable with the pin in it, then leave the remaining connections as-is.

Now switch your surround sound system to the input you connected the red and white plugs to and turn on your TV. You should see picture from the TV, but hear audio from the surround sound system.
