    hi catriver...

    thanks for the reply.
i tried both resetting the circuit breaker and the start button... no luck. could it be the fuse in the black box? i can't determine if it is blown...

I have the same problem. My electrician brother figured out it was the fuse but I could not find an 8 amp 250 volt fuse that is the same size as the one on the hood. We can I get the fuse?

We had the exact same thing happen after a power outage. It was the fuse as well. What pain to get too! I know what I will ask next time I buy a hood! LOL! Thanks for your help! Maggie

How to get to the Fuse and circuit Bearker.

  • sliktop Mar 05, 2009

Same GE Monogram range hood ... had a brief power outage a month prior ... but everything on the hood quit working (lights, switches, display, fan) while we were standing in the room a month later. We also had a circuit board on a Miele vacuum cleaner burn up at the instant of the power outage. Any thoughts?

Could this be a "dropped phase" utility interruption?

  • jrfleck Apr 11, 2009

I have had the same issue. The hood seems dead after a power outage.

Checking the fuse, in the black box, finds it intact.

I have found that removing the fuse (inside the black box) and replacing it (with the same good fuse) restores operation.

I don't understand why cycling power to the hood does not do the same thing, but, it dosen't.

Diana, the tech sheet I have states that if the unit has a power interruption, reset the house circuit breaker to the hood, if made before 2001. If after 2001, serial number beginning with DA press the start button to reset the hood. Let me know if it worked, Catriver..post back.

Diana, it could be that fuse. Part number I have for it is...WB02X10584, rated 8A 250V. You would have to ohm it out with a meter, see if it shows continuity. Catriver.

GE GSl25JFXLB fridge not cooling after power outage, no display on ice dispenser. Lights inside work. Happened once and it fixed itself after and now it is happening again after another power outage.

More likely u have bad main control board locations on back of the unit check for voltage to dispenser board or just unplugged your fridge and remove cover on back for main control check for visual damage

Bad line ge nomogram

You need to think of these ovens as electronic devices. If you get this message after a power outage, it is behaving just like your cable box or internet router when they have functional upset from a power outage. Turn the power off to the oven at the electrical box for 10 minutes then turn it back on. The oven should cycle up and then work. Mine did!

Ge monogram fan dying slow death...first hi-spd. only, now only humming, lights work...is it fuse, transformer or worse, blower assembly

My best guess is the blower motor is going out -- probably the bearings. You might be able to replace just the motor excluding the propeller or the squirrel cage as the case maybe.

My range stop working

Hi 7764,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You have monogram (df 8 08989 9) hood it all of a sudden stop working , there is power (120v) coming in ' but nothing works

If you have the testing equipment and the ability then check the fuse then the transformer then simply follow the power till you see where it stops. Or yu might try utilizing the Repair Directory to find a repairman.

JBP84TOHWW GE Electric Range Large Dual Element Not Working

similar problem after a power outage. Display would be blank until I turned ON an element (after which display would light, but no power to the respective element. No elements would heat even thought the dial shows power). Turning OFF the element would blank the display. I reseated the power cord and cycled the 50a basement breaker for 5 mins. Everything now works, but not sure for how long.
