Help with my bosch nexxt 500 washing machine! wont drain and/or spin.

I've removed the little round door on the front lower right, found the black "winged" filter cap, unscrewed that only to be met with the white plastic that i think should have come off with the black screw cap! I've no idea how to remove that, been trying for 2 days! Even try putting black twist thing back on over and over in an attempt to bring the white unit with it but nothing! Any ideas?

SOURCE: bOSCH WASHING MACHINE RETAINING SPRING FOR FRONT DOOR GASKET

This is a two person job. The spring part of the metal ring goes at the 6:00 position (note the groove on the metal part of the machine). Fit the ring into the gasket as much as you can on the hinge side. While one person uses pliers to stretch the spring, another person uses a flat head screwdriver to move the ring into the gasket groove. The trick is to stretch the spring as straight and close to the machine as you can or else the ring pops off and the gasket has to be reset.

What does the E04 error code mean?

E04 means that you are not draining quick enough, if you are using HE detergant then your drain line is probably clogged. There is a round access panel on the lower right corner of your washer. If you stick a small screwdriver through the tiny little hole on this panel and twist the panel off you will see the drain pump catch. You can twist this cap off by hand and remove all the debris inside. WATCH OUT a lot of water will be coming through.

I have a Bosch WFMC330SUC that does not end the cycle, it just keeps starting over. I assume it is a bad control board, but they are $300+ and I'd probably replace the machine instead. Any suggestions?

Hi wwwylie,

First check the Drain Pump filter, as the last 2 cycles of a machine is Drain & Spin, and if the Drain pump cannot drain the water, the filter may be clogged and the cycle won't progress to spin.

Please follow my below Tip on how to do this:

Door will not unlock

There's a small round "door" at the lower front right of the washer. At the 5-o'clock position in the door there is a small hole. Put a small screwdriver blade in the hole and push in just a little then rotate the door clockwise up to the 6-o'clock position. The door will come out and behind it are the drain filter and the emergency door unlocking rod/cable held to the right side of the drain pump by a clip. Gently pull the rod/cable down until a click is heard then open the door.

We have a Bosch Nexxt 100 Series Washer. The door lock is stuck and will not unlock. We have a load of clothes in the washer but are unable to get the door to unlock. I have tried unplugging the unit,...

Getting the door open is the easy part. Finding out why it won't open might take a little doing -- though replacing the door latch is also easy. To get the door open, Take an awl or something pointy and place it in the hole on the small round cover in the lower left front of the machine. Now use this to turn the cover, unscrewing it from the machine. Once the cover is off, you should see a plastic rod hanging down. Pull this rod and it will unlock the door. You can now remove your wet clothes from the machine and investigate the cause of the problem.

The water won't drain from my Bosch Nexxt 500 Series Washer machine

I solved the problem by using a sump pump to drain most of the water, then I removed the cover plate on the lower front right of the machine to get access to the drain plug. Upon removing that, some water flowed out but not too much, I found a sock jammed in there which wasn't allowing the drain or spin cycle to work properly.

Interestingly, the machine's manual says that the cover plate is only to be removed by a Bosch authorized service repair representative. Saved about $150 by simply doing this myself.

Bosch washing machine spin cycle is not working

I don't know if this will solve everyone's problem but I found the problem in my machine. I found a SHOUT color catcher stuck in the impeller of the drain pump in the bottom of the machine. If you remove the round face plate covering the drain plug and then unscrew the drain cover you can access the little pump impeller. I found the 5" x 10" color catch sheet stuck and impeding the rotation of the impeller. Once I removed it, reset the machine, reinstalled the drain cover and outer cover and restarted the machine, it worked fine.

We use alot of these color catchers and have never had this problem before. But as they say, there is a first for everything.

Steps to repair:
  1. Unplug the machine
  2. Lift an edge of the round face plate covering the drain on the lower right corner of the face of the machine. Then rotate it clockwise about 1/8 of a turn. Remove the face plate.
  3. If you are sure your machine is empty you can simply unscrew the drain plug which is a roughly 4" round plug with a handle molded into it. I had standing water in my machine so I vacuumed out the water first then held the vacuum at the opening of the drain plug and slowly unscrewed the plug letting the water get sucked up . This took about 5 minutes just to drain this drain trap.
  4. Unscrew the drain plug (if you haven't done it already)
  5. You have to fully unscrew the drain plug then pull on the plug a bit to get it to come out.
  6. Examine and remove any debris you find in the drain trap. (In my case, this where I found the color catcher stuck up in the impeller of the pump which is toward the middle at the bottom of the drain.)
  7. Reinstall and snug the Drain plug. To do this you need to properly orient the plug to get it to go in correctly. You have to wiggle it alittle as well.
  8. MAKE SURE THE PLUG IS SNUG OR IT WILL LEAK!
  9. Double-check the security of the plug
  10. Reinstall the face plate by orienting the tabs on the cover and rotate in place counter-clockwise.
I hope this helps some of you out there.
