USB device does not recognised and pen drive doesn't show its symbol. and my windows drivers are all of up dated. Help me please
Hello,
There are a few possibilities for the problem you're having. Some you can resolve yourself, some you will need further assistance from a professional.
It sounds like you've done some basic diagnostics already so don't worry if these steps start off with things you've already done.
First, with the kingston drive connected, open my computer and see if the drive shows up at all, if it does click on it and see what messages come up. If you receive a message regarding hardware failure the device is likely damaged, if you receive a message telling you the device is not formatted then you have do it yourself methods available to recover any files before you format the drive.
Second, open device manager and select the Kingston, if you're not sure how right-click on your Computer or My Computer icon and left-click Manage. Once the management console opens, left-click device manager on the left panel, then expand **** drives section and identify the Kingston, if it's not there the hardware has failed beyond do it yourself techniques. If it is double click the Kingston to open it's properties sheet. Select the Volumes tab and then click the populate button. If it shows up with approx 2GB then do it yourself methods will likely work, let me know and I'll point you to a specific article to walk you through the process, if it shows up with an absurd size or fails to detect a volume let me know and I will get you a referral into a nearby data recovery facility(please supply Country, State and City).
Either way we'll get your files if it's worthwhile. If the volume does show up in Device manager and your have no need to recover files from the device, you should be able to then select disk manager from the left panel, find the Kingston and format it to get it working again.
Hope this helps Fixya,
Chris
