What you are experiencing are symptoms of a failed CCD in the camera. Many years ago Canon did have some models that were affected by bad ccd's, that has long gone and past. Canon does not repair the G12 free unless you are still within the one year warranty on the product.
If you need to have it repaired, this is the place for these models: www.camerasandparts.com These guys strictly service the Canons and no other models at all. The work they do is superb and it's not much at all to look after this problem. Through them it runs $89 for parts, labor, the servicing for the camera, and return shipping included. The best part is their work is excellent. Bets of luck with the issue.

I'd agree. Camerasandparts.com is the best bet for these. They do an internal correction to prevent this from keep happening on the G12.

Go through www.CamerasAndParts.com It's the best option for this problem and they automatically do the internal correction so this doesn't keep happening on the G12. Canon does not repair the G12 free unless you are within the 12 months with proof of purchase and they verify the problem was not caused by the user. Skip the headache with Canon, Cameras And Parts charges $89 with the cleaning and service included for the camera, along with the correction done for any G12 they work on. Many customer just find Canon Factory Service way too expensive and difficult to deal with. Cameras And Parts is a much better option for repairs on these cameras. Service through them is exceptional

Horizontal lines across photo images - video is ok

Hi there:
The only time I have seen horizontal lines in the pictures, it was a prelude to the CCD sensor failing. Sounds like a CCD sensor problem. If the CCD sensor is causing the problem, it will get worse soon. Usually the next thing to happen is that the colors will shift toward pink.

I suggest you phone Panasonic support and tell them the problem and that you suspect the CCD.Ask for a repair quote for a CCD replacement. If the product is under warranty.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details:Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Horizontal lines digital camera

Hi there:
Some symptoms of a defective CCD include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

A CCD problem would explain the lines on your pictures and the lines on the LCD (since the CCD is used to feed the live image). CCD (Charge Coupled Device) is one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras.

When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD convert this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, then converted to a digital value. This last step occurs outside the CCD, in a camera component called an analog-to-digital converter.

In order to correct this issue, the repair facility needs to replace the CCD. This is not something you may do on your own; check this article for additional details:Bad CCDs. This, isn't a good new, but hope helps to solve it.

When i take a photo ,the image has horizontal line across it ...? what's should i do .is it lens problem ?

Samsung themselves wouldn't normally bother; a warranty claim usually means they chuck your camera away and send you a replacement. If you're in the UK click here for details of how to proceed with Samsung.

Horizontal lines on display and printed image

I suspect your camera has a defective CCD which is quite common for the A75.   Canon is aware of the problem and has issued a recall for affected cameras.  I have had mine repaired under this recall.  Here is a link with some pictures which show what the problem looks like.

Horizontal Lines throughout the images

My friend, I believe that that is a CCD issue. The horizonal lines and the interrmitent issues with the images are all related to a CCD issue that was notorious on the S-series camera.
Why the tech told you there is no CCD is beyond me, but all cameras either have a CCD or a form of the CCD and this is most likely causing you the issue.

eBay is a very good spot to find replacement parts!

Horizontal lines

I have the same problem with my camera and it appears to be a well known problem with this camera and some others models beside of canon's: The problem appears to be caused by a defective CCD integrated in the camera. The CCD is not very resistant to various enviromental factors such as humidity and changes of temperature, causing the "porcelain" cover of the CCD "brake" and make a contact failure or something like that. The fact is that Canon, Sony and some other brands annouced CCD Repair "or" replacement programs totally free of charge to the cameras presenting this problem. To identify if this is your problem, your camera must show at least one of these symptoms: *The images in screen LCD present/display a very noticeable dye towards some color. *The screen is completely black. *The images are corrupted or distorted. *The images have horizontal lines or bands. *The images have vertical lines or bands. - The problem appears because the type of glue that was used in the manufacture on the part of Sony, is sensible to the heat and the humidity, causing that the sensor separates of its base and creating failures in the connectors of the CCD. In a publication made by Canon Asia they annouce: Affected products that exhibit this phenomenon will be repaired free of charge, regardless of the warranty status, if disconnection of the internal wiring of the CCD is confirmed. which means, that at least in these places, Canon will free repair the cameras affected by this problem after even expired the guarantee. I hope this information is useful for you. Please rate my solution.
