Here's how to use Windows Password Recovery Standard to crack Windows XP without a password.
Step1: Get Windows Password Recovery Standard from: http://www.recoverlostpassword.com/products/windowspasswordrecovery.html.
Step2: Install and launch it to any accessible computer.
Step3: Use a blank and writable CD/DVD to burn Windows XP password reset disk with the tool.
Step4: Boot the locked computer from CD/DVD.
Step5: Start to perform Windows XP password hack with the burned disk.
Step6: Reboot computer and login to the XP machine without password.
(Note: Before starting password hack on Windows XP process with Windows Password Recovery Standard, you need to find another accessible computer and an empty CD/DVD.)

SOURCE: Need to set R3000 Compacq laptop to factory settings.

Compaq? Oh, then you are going to have a hard disk partition with the recovery files, so you don't need the disks. You have made it, that's great, because in case you cannot access the hard disk, you cannot initiate a recovery without ordering recovery CDs for your model from HP.

There are a number of ways to do it.

Try pressing F9 at startup (when the Compaq or HP logo shows up), and if it doesn't work, see the key for System Recovery at the bottom of the screen. It will recover, just follow the instructions on the screen.

Also, you can insert the first disk anytime, or boot from it when you start the PC up.

Or, you can use the Recovery Manager software in the PC that is pre-installed and it will help you to do a System Recovery from the files on your recovery partition.

Please rate this answer, I badly need it.

SOURCE: i want to restore my laptop to factory settings

Hello !

There are other options, such as choosing System Restore via Programs - Accessories - System Tools .. which would take your laptop to an earlier date, which could resolve problems.

But, if you want to know how a Factory Restore is done for your system (it's a long process), here it is:

1. Upon boot, select F8 until the menu
"Advanced Boot Options" appears.
2. Choose "Repair your Computer" (use Up/Down keys if necessary to find) and hit Enter.
3. Once Windows has loaded a few files, "System Recovery Options" will appear.
4. Under "Select a language" and "Select a keyboard layout:" specify the language and keyboard layout. As a rule, the language will be automatically recognized by
the system and is marked in grey.
5.Click on "Next".
6. Under "User name:" enter the user name and the "Password". The user name will also be available in the selection menu and can be called up by clicking on the
black triangle. If you have not assigned a password for the user selected, leave the "Password" field empty. Then click on "OK".
7. In the following "System Recovery Options" menu, select the option "Fujitsu Siemens Computers Recovery" with the sub-item "Easy backup and recovery
of your system".
8. In the next menu, select "Restore the as-delivered status" and click on "Next".
9. In the menu "Restore factory default settings", choose the option "From hard disk (recommended)" from "Select source" and confirm with "Next".
10. The next message informs you that all data could be lost. Once you have confirmed this message, your system is restored.
On completion of the restoration process, a confirmation message will be displayed.
11. Select "Exit" to close the process.
12. In the following "System Recovery Options" menu, select "Restart".
13. After the restart, you must make some adjustments. To do this, follow the onscreen instructions.

Good luck.

No disk

The issue is that the PC's from Dell, HP, Gateway, etc all have what's called OEM licenses. If you look around on the PC/Laptop, you should find a Windows sticker that says exactly what is to be loaded onto it (Windows XP Service Pack 2, for example). Sometimes the manufacturer will make a partition to load the install to on the hard drive - so the first thing to check is if there is 'boot options' key on startup - see if you have a recovery console or a factory settings area.
If you where to try and install a copy that doesn't match, it will fail outright. If you install it to another PC and image it over - it will need you to repair it, and won't let you do that without the proper disc. Your best bet might be to look on eBay or on the manufacturers site for a match for the OEM sticker - "Dell OEM Windows XP Home SP2" for example.
Hope that helps.

I have a Dell Latitude Windows XP laptop that I need to be back to factory settings...how can I do that?

Hey, I also forgot windows xp password several days ago. I tried several free software. It took me two days and got quite messy.

Unfortunately none of them work for me. Finally I made it work with Windows Password Reset . The good news is that it works. The bad news is it is not free. You can try Windows Password Reset Deluxe. It works for me.

How can i install Xp spk2 into dell latitude e6400

Are you talking about Windows XP Service Pack 2? If so just go to microsoft's site to download and install it.

Service Pack 3 is the latest for Windows XP so you might as well download and install it.

Try the link below.

HELLO!PLAESE HELP ME.I HAVE dell vostro 1015 windows vista but i want to convert it into xp,the problem is whenever i try to install windows xp a blu screen appears saying that something about my bios

Are you using a full version retail or OEM copy of WIN XP to install? Or is it a recovery copy from another PC or laptop? You will need to use a full version disc to perform the retrofit. You will also need to download the WIN XP Drivers for your laptop from the Dell Site. You CANNOT "upgrade" install WIN XP over VISTA and keep your drivers, settings, files. Performing a WIN XP install will require a total wipe of your hard drive. Therefore you will have to save off all your personal files before you do this. Microsoft doesn't provide assistance for downgrade-type installations, so you must basically wipe your hard drive and then reload the OS.

You can remove or change the Windows User oradministrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access todownload the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot upthe laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CDwhich contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removalprogram.
