To reset the heater turn it off at the mains make sure the tank is full, ie no air when the hot tap is opened. Then leave for 15mins and turn back on.

If the red light flashes for a while, with a clicking noise while trying to turn on. It's either the ysus or xsus board, they are both easy to replace, my xsus board has blown twice, last board I bought off ebay £35 lasted 2 years. Just bought another for £16 + free postage.

If you can use a screwdriver & disconnect/connect a few ribbon cables & connectors, you'll save yourself £££s

telltale signs are when the tv starts to make a clicking off/on sound while watching tv, without actually turning off, That's the time to look for a spare ysus or xsus board, before it blows. It could last months or weeks but better to be safe.

Takes me 15mins to take the back off, replace the board & put the back back on. & I'm a novice.

take a OBD2 scanner to have check, maybe you will know what is problem.

Sounds like your GE Main Control Board is out. It is a very common problem and easy to change.

Sounds like a sticky relay on the board, but could be an alarm buzzer! Is the freezer working ok?

2006 malibu maxx. windows wont go down. owner manual has something about if there's a system overload the windows wont work until the overload is gone. i have to cut the radio off and a.c. when aobut 15mins. sometimes this is work. problem is i can't wait 15mins with the windows up and no a.c.

Does it make the loud click just once, or will it continue to click when you turn the key?
If it is just once, then there is still a bad connection someplace for the main power. If it continues to click every time you turn the key to "start", then it is probably the starter solenoid itself that is bad. There are two big terminals (bolts) on the solenoid, and if you connect a 12V test light or meter across them, you should see power there. If the light doesn't go out (or very dim) when you turn the ign. to 'start', then the solenoid is bad. If the light goes out and the starter doesn't turn, then there is something wrong with the starter. I suspect the solenoid also because it works better with a strong charge on the battery.
