Vegetable draw is freezing the vegetables

Open the door and have a look inside the refrigerator itself - usually at the back or on one of the sides there will be a thermostat switch; probably a small dial with numbers on.

The dial -the thermostat - controls the temperature of the refrigerator. Your refrigerator is more than likely set to be very cold. Turn the dial to whatever setting suits you.

Someone has either ran your thermostat to the coldest setting. Most thermostat controls should be set at mid position, On most that is a 5 setting. If this does not help, your thermostat probably is not functioning because the contact in thermostat may have welded together and needs replaced.

Do you have frost buildup on the rear wall of your freezer? What is the model number for your Whirlpool? It is important that you provide the model number so I can see what may be causing the freezing temps in the fresh food section/crisper. Thanks JT

Usually the thermostat stuck closed but can sometimes be drain water freezing after defrost due to blocked drain. Fully defrost and check water drains away.

You need to change the cold control. Call Bi Coastal Appliance Parts @ 1-800-673-1262 give model and serial number.

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

You need a new cold control.

Most likely your refrigerator is set at too cold a setting. Just turn the temperature adjustment to a warmer setting.

Make sure that you realise that 1 degree is colder than 2 degrees and therefore a setting of 3 - 5 degrees might solve your problem
