Panasonic KX-T7630 message notification lamp not coming on

Hi, The Message Notification Lamp on one of our phones is not coming on when someone leaves a message. I have enabled it in the users mailbox setup by entering their password, then selecting number 5 ("to setup message waiting notification") then selecting number 1 ("to change the message waiting lamp status") and then selected "Enable" but it still won't work. Additional info: The extension number, phone and mailbox were used by a previous employee who has now left and the phone has now been reprogrammed with the new employees name. The new employee has changed their message greeting, but everything else is the same and it used to work. The lamp lights up when the extension is called so it's not a bulb issue. The PBX is the KX-TDA30 and I have access to the Maintenance Console if required, however I can't find anywhere in the software that might be the answer. Any ideas?? Cheers!

SOURCE: Panasonic KX-T7630 Master Phone

Sure. It requires an Operating Manual (OM) and some programming. If you need the manual, here's a link http://public.carl.airpost.net/TDA/200_TDA_OM_06-12.pdf

On page 158 and 168 you can set up the features of the phone.
In order to do that, you'll go back to the phone that works, and press PROG and each button and write down what it says.
It will say things like EXT-102, LOG IN-100, VTR-165, etc.
If the buttons are labeled, note what it says, then move over to the phone you want to program. Press PROG, the button, then dial the codes from pages 168 forward for each function. It's not that difficult, for example, a DSS for ext 101 would be 1101 STORE, call log is 30100 STORE (or similar).

Each button changes when you press STORE and the feature will move if it has already been stored in another location. HOLD PROG backs you out of programming.

Please rate this solution or acknowledge that you have the manual if you need it as this link will be taken down when you do or by 2/23 if you don't..

SOURCE: Need to change password on voicemail extension on

If it's a Panasonic brand voice mail, you administer the system from the System Owner's mailbox (999). With that, you can use option 4 or 5 and reset the mailbox password to any and all mailboxes (except 999 :-)

Panasonic KX-T7633 Notification Light will not turn off

The red light is MESSAGE WAITING. It is not necessarily VM notification. Press the MESSAGE button and look at the display. One of the soft keys will let you CLEAR the message and it will tell you where it came from. It's set by anybody calling your phone, and randomly, it is set by dialing your extension plus "4". Oops. It's a Pana mystery :-)

The message lamp is staying on - when you press messages there are none - the system automatically dials another extension. how do I solve this please?

It's supposed to. On your phone you have a button called MESSAGE. It's what sets up message waiting. So does the digit "4" after you call someone on the intercom (oops). Try it. Call someone on the intercom and while their phone is ringing, press "4". Listen to your set and look at the display!

To clear those, press MESSAGE on an idle phone. Look at the display. It will tell you who the message is from and one of the soft keys (3rd) will be CLEAR. Press it and the message(s) will go away one at a time. *700 plus your own extension will also clear ALL messages at once. (There are a whole bunch of other MW commands like *701 and *702, but the button replaces those). They work great on Single line sets in motels....

Changing Panasonic KX- T7630 Business Phone Answering Message

You don't "lose" the manual, it comes on a CD. The Panasonic system probably has a TVA voice mail system and it requires you to change the Auto Attendant greeting from the message manager's mailbox. If you don't have the passwords for mailbox 998 and 999, you need to contact someone who has them and a layout of the system.

Your Panasonic technician can guide you through the process.

Panasonic KXT7630 MESSAGE RINGER LAMP

It's not permanent, you just have to know how to turn it off :-)

When the phone is idle, the light is lit red and a 7636 will
say Message Waiting. At each phone, do not pick up the handset, but press MESSAGE. Your display will have who left the message on the top line and .EXIT CLEAR under soft keys 2 and 3.

Guess what :-) Press CLEAR and the message is erased. When the queue is empty, the light will go out.

Message Lamp does not light

This will be a two step answer. Walk to any other extension and dial *701 plus the extension that doesn't work. If it lights the message waiting lamp (of course it will), then please look for your voice mail system cabinet. It may be black, with a dark blue cover the same as the TDA phone system. Part numbers would be TVA-50 or TVA-100.

If all of the above is true, you need to do some notification programming in the voice mail system. Do you have the programming software if it's a TVA?
