SOURCE: Ipod video onto TV through RX v365

No it is not. TV out requires special cables that can be purchased for the iPod.

Testimonial: "What are these special cables?"

You have to configure your DTV input to use optical audio instead of analog dtv audio (red/white plugs). Input assignment should be described in the manual. Come back to me if you have still problems with it.

I just bought a Yamaha 5.1 system with rcvr RX-V365 i have HDMI to tv then HDMI to RCVR then another HDMI to DTV. Problem cant seem to get picture AND sound together through RCVR. depending on what setting...

RX-V365 doesn't support sound over HDMI. It can switch the video+audio from HDMI in to HDMI out, but can't play the sound through the speakers. You need to connect the audio separately via optical or coax digital cable.

Can I connect component av cables "in" to my Yamaha RX-V365 and connect "out" to my TV and get both audio and video?

Receiver does support 3x component inputs and one component output. Both these can carry only video signal, not audio. So you have to connect audio separately, either stereo via analog 2x RCA connectors and digital SPDIC via optical (2x) or coaxial (1x) cable.

I have HDMI cable from TV to RX-V365. HDMI from DVD player to RX-V365. HDMI from DirectTV receiver to RX-V365. Speakers attached. I can watch the TV and the DVD player... but the sound is still coming...

the RX-V365 cannot process the audio from the HDMI input. You will also need to connect a seperate audio input (either coaxial or optical) into the relevant input in the rear of the RX-V365

I own a Yamaha RX-v365 and i cant figure out how to connect my PS3 to the surround sound. For some reason the HDMI cables wont work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

As above :
Connect PS3 via HDMI to DTV/IN, Connect HDMI from out to TV's HDMI/IN. Connect TV's Optical out to amps DTV/Optical in.

2X HDMI cables and one Optical are required.

I have the V363 but yours looks the same.

Enjoy great sound :)

OH: choose the DTV input then stereo and then dolby etc .. cheers

How do we listen to aCD in 5 channel suround sound without having the TV on we can only get straight sound. We have a Yamaha RX-V365 av receiver.

Do you listen to audio CDs via a CD player or DVD player? Pure audio CD is only 2-channel, so either TV or the DVD player is doing the mix to 5 channels. But you can choose the sound mode via remote - there should be modes like 5ch/7ch stereo, where the same signal is going to all speakers (I you this mode for listening to radio sometimes).
