Blury Display on FE140

Hi, My fe-140 is only 3 mths old (since i purchased new) i was taking pic's fine then sand got thrown at me....Didn't think any went into or near camera but a few mins after that i tried taking pics and the lens/zoom was making noises (abnormal) and not closing properly, and the display was blury. I re-charged batteries and "blew in the lens whislt holding it upside down" now the lens/zoom is fine but the display is still blury.....its fine when i look at menu options etc but when i look to take a pic is blury and can hardley see thru it. I have taken pics and uploaded them but the pics are blury too. Can anyone help? Thanks

I have the same problem, but I am not aware of any sand or dust being blown into mine. It was fine at a wedding at the weekend, but now the screen picture is all blurry, and hence any pics taken are blurry.

It sounds like your lens's focus element is stuck. Given the events you describe it is possible that a grain of sand has worked its way into the focus motor's gearing and jammed it up. Normally the small motor moves the focus optic in and out to achieve proper focus, if its movement is limited or completely jammed you will experience blurry pictures. The camera will have to be disassembled and the sand cleaned out to restore normal function. There are repair providers you can find online who can work on your camera. Blury screen

HI there your screen is ok but sorry to say that the lens does not focus because the lens guide pin is damaged or dislocated. So replaced the guide pin or repaired it. After that your camera will work properly. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

My fe140 is saying card cover is open when i look further i relaize a white rubber is missing next to the disk

The problem you are describing is a problem with a sensor on the inside of the battery cover door. It seems to have failed and needs to be replaced. Following are the instructions to send your camera to Olympus for service.

Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $74 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.

Blury pictures

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

Cannot be turned on by power button, turns on with view pic button. Lens remain extended. Its just stuck in view pics mode

If these cameras are less than a year old then they are still under warranty, and Olympus repair shops( found on their website) will repair them for free minus shipping charges. The lenses probably have broken gears or have just been pushed out of alignment and can be repaired by someone mechanically inclined and very gentle with components. Can find good used and or possibly new lenses on ebay. Not that hard to replace.

Takin pictures i have weird lines

Unfortunately in view of you having tried different settings and getting the same result your camera looks to be faulty. As it is still under guarantee return it for diagnosis and repair to your supplier.
