I would check with your manufacturer and see if a professional can diagnose the regulator and even the gas valve itself.

SOURCE: burners on gas stove work but oven and broiler not working

Most ovens, unless they have an electric igniter (does it go tick tick tick when plugged in and turned on? If so, it has an electic ignition.) have a pilot light. In order to keep gas from flowing out, and to prevent a possible explosion when the pilot light has gotten put out, they have an electric thermocouple on them that shuts off the gas when it gets cold. Plug the cord back in, and relight your pilot light by holding the lighter (I recommend a fireplace match or bbq lighter, not a cigarette lighter to prevent singed knuckle hairs!) over the thermocouple for a couple of minutes.

SOURCE: Oven/Broiler Igniters for KitchenAid range KGST307

Oven bake ignites usually have lifetime 5-7 years. If igniter glows but gas not came in - replace igniter. Same with broil igniter.

SOURCE: I have a gas stove - Frigidaire model FGF326ASA.

You probably have a weak ignitor. To operate properly it should draw 3.5 amps or better. The ignitor must be bright. If it is dim it is weak.

GE wall oven gas model # JGRS14 won't heat past 100 and I don't see any flames

if you can see the ignitor glowing on either the broiler or the lower area of the oven then the gas valve is bad and not opening anymore, sometimes the ignitors are the culprit as they are in series with the gas valve and if weak wont let the valve open, but both upper and lower burners not operating i would suspect a gas valve first

Model: JDS8850AAS -- Oven won't preheat above 150

Hello,

The problem beleive it or not is that the bake ignitor is weak ,and it is not drawing the proper amprage to open the gas valve. If you have a amp meter access the wires to the bake ignitor(usually behind the storage drawer) and check for 3.3-3.6 amps when oven is set to bake by clamping the meter around ONE wire wire of ignitor make sure only one wire, either one and not both.
if amp draw less than 3.3-3.6 amps replace bake ignitor. I know it seems improbable that if the ignotor comes on that it could be the problem.Professional appliance technicians who would charge a average of $250.00 to repair your oven, have found when the ignitor comes on yet the oven won't heat that a weak ignitor is the cause 100% of the time

Hope this helps

I have a 6 yr old Tappan stove, model TGF657BFW5. the burners work fine, but the oven and/or broiler take 5 to 10 minutes to light. when the oven and/or broiler do light, the flame is only about 1/8 to 1/4...

that ignitor should lite the flame within 40 to 60 seconds if not the ignitor is bad.even though it glows red it doesn't mean it's good it works with amps change the ignitor

Viking gas stove operators manual....I was working on my stove ...it was not lighting up....the stove......and I noticed that there was 2 burners...and when I replaced one of the ignighters and tryed the...

The way it works is the igniter gets voltage signal from the control and will start to glow. The gas valve for the burner and the igniter are wired on the same circuit. When the igniter starts to glow it takes all the voltage from the circuit. As the igniter increases in temp the resistence changes and the voltage starts to travel to the gas valve. Once the gas valve registers 3 to 4 volts it will open allowing gas to the burner for ignition. The igniter needs to reach approx 2200 degrees for this to happen. So it could be the igniter or the gas valve. The igniter should test approx 500 to 700 ohms with a ohm meter. The gas valve could also be sticking. If the igniter is glowing bright and you tap the gas valve with a wrench and it comes on then the gas valve is sticking and needs replacement(as long as the igniter tests good)...Hope that helps.

The lower oven ignighter does not glow

I had the same problem and swapped the oven igniter with the broiler igniter and the oven now works. This proved the oven igniter itself was the fault, now I have to replace the broiler igniter with a new one(which is much easier to get to).

FYI: An igniter may glow red and still not allow the oven to work. The igniter has to draw a certain amount of electrical current for the main gas valve to open.

WHY WON'T MY OVEN HEAT UP?

Most modern gas ovens and many broilers use a "glow-bar" style of igniter that glows red-hot to ignite the gas. If the igniter doesn't reach the proper temperature, the gas valve won't open. You may need to replace the igniter.

Oven fills with gas Maytag Appliance MGR5780BDQ

Your ignitor is becoming defective. Even though it is glowing, it is not creating the proper resistance to "pop" the gas valve open. Instead, gas slowly seeps into the oven cavity until it finally ignites and causes a potentially dangerous situation. Call an experienced technician and have it checked.
