Screen is filled with a circular Red/Green/Blue pattern

Almost 2 years ago now, we bought a 30" Samsung Dynaflat TXR3065W CRT HDTV. About a year ago we decided to move our room around, and when we finshed and plugged the TV in and turned it on, there was a circular red/green/blue pattern. It was a weekend, so Samsung technical support was closed. I left the tv unplugged for the weekend, and on monday before calling tech support, plugged it back in and it was fine. Now, a year later, we just moved and after the move, the same thing happened. After it had calmed down for 24 hours or so, we turned it back on and there were two blotches in the top left and right corners. on the right was a green blotch, and on the left, a blue one. so, this didn't go away after a couple days so we decided to live with it until we could afford a new TV. During the second night of watching the set with the blotches in both corners, the TV made a weird noise so we turned it off. After letting it settle for another day, we turned it on only to find that the red/green/blue circular pattern had returned. Now, it's been a week and it's still there, making it totally unwatchable, and leaving our $400 HD cable box sitting there collecting dust. Since this is a CRT HDTV, is it even worth getting it fixed, or should we just go and pick up a LCD or DLP/LCD Projection?

The problem will be with the de-gausing circuit, this de-magnetises the tube when the set is switched on from cold, this is a fault you will need to get an engineer to look at ie, not a D.I.Y repair.

Dptv335 model number#60pp9363H/17SAM Mode Green Convergence

Your Green CRT is getting Mold in the glycol. This will get worse. You need to drain the glycol out of the crt and clean, then apply new glycol to the crt. You should do the blue one also, because it will go next. The Red can can be left alone.

Over time a thin layer of fungi grows over the top of your BLUE CRT preventing light fronm shining through. This causes you to loose the blue color in your set. Check and clean. Also when the back is off your set check to see if your blue CRT is on. If not you may need to replace it.

Convergence issues again, try using the manual adjust with the remote.
you can only adjust the blue and red, if the green is wavy or the Red and Blue won't more then you will need the ICs or CBA changed again.

My tv has lost its colour, and its green or yellow sometimes.

Okay that means the other GUNS went out when i refer to guns I mean the other blue and red, they need to be replaced pretty costly but if you value that TV I'd do it.

Tye Dye Picture Always!

Is this an Analog TV with a picture tube? If so, it sounds like the screen is magnetized. Have you had any magnets (including speakers) near the screen?

Inside all analog TVs is what is called a degaussing coil. When you turn on the TV for the first time (cold), the degaussing coil is energized for a couple seconds to demagnetize the screen and then it goes off.

You can purchase an external degaussing coil and demagnetize the screen youself. A degaussing coil looks like a small hula-hoop about 6-8 inches in diameter with a AC line cord attached. I've even made these coils out of long lengths of enameled wire, electrical tape and a line cord.

Once itas plugged into the wall outlet, you hold it close to the screen (1/2' away) with the hoop facing the screen and move the hoop in a circular pattern, covering all areas of the screen and slowly move the hoop away from the screen while still moving in a circular patten until your about 2-3 feet from the screen.

If you did it right, the color splotches will be gone.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance to you or help you to locate one of these coils.

It's possible that the coil in your set is bad.

Good Luck!

Green Picture

I guess it's missing blue. Even if you see the blue crt working it's not enough and focalised. replace the coolant in it and also check if you have some coolant leak on the crt pcb.
