SOURCE: record and watch different channels with freesat

I believe that the Humax can only output 1 channel and because it has no built in hdd and twin channel capabilty that is all you can record 1 channel (unlike sky +/sky HD) so that means also that unless you watch a different source (like the picture from your aerial (terrestial channels)) you are stuck with having to watch the channel you record

SOURCE: Cable box, digital service, channels not appearing

connect the RF lead from the wall to your cable box then out from that to your dvd then out from your dvd to your tv. now connect a scart lead from the cable box to AV 2 on the DVD then connect AV 1 on the DVD to your TV if you have a second scart on your tv connect that to the cable box. NOW on the DVD select AV2 now whatever is on the cable box will be recorded onto DVD/VCR. Put the DVD recorder into VCR mode and set it to auto tune all the Digital Video Broadcasts. You cannot physically tune the cable boxes own channels into the DVD via RF it has to be via a scart.

SOURCE: Connect ILO DVDR05 to a digital set top box tuner

Just run your outputs from your cable to the ILO inputs, then your ilo ouputs to the tv inputs. Use Cable remote to control channels, use ILO source button on remote to access the correct input setting on ILO. AND YES< you have to do this EVERY TIME you turn the ILO on to watch tv.. I have mine hooked up this way to record from my convertor box and My husband hates it.(when he just wants to watch tv.)

SOURCE: Electronic ILLITERATE!!! - nothing recorded from cable tv channel

okay, if you have a cable box (cable out plug to dvd/vcr in), then from the dvd/vcr (cable out plug to tv/monitor). make sure tv/monitor and dvd/vcr are set to ch #3. you swith channels with the cable box ,you are not going to be able to record HBO on dvd (but you can with the vcr), any other cable ch(tnt, history, tbs,we, oxygen and more) is recordable w/ both dvd/vcr

no cable box. take cable wire plug to dvd/vcr in, than other wire is connected to tv/monitor
now go to dvd/vcr with remote, menu, set to catv, scan channels. now when you wish to look at tv the dvd/vcr must be on at all times. again you will not be able to record Premium ch like HBO
hope this help............pls feel free to rate

I have a Panasonic Tx l37S10B tv set, & a PanasonicDVD recorder,DMR-EX768EB. To ensure I receive true HD i have bought a Humax Fox T2 hd Digital receiver. I use these items to receive & record HD...

Hi,

You didn't fully expain how each device is connected to the others. I don't think you have this set up correctly. Your DVD cannot record in HD so there is no point sending an HD signal to it - it can't process it. This is how I would set it up:

1. Install a 2-way splitter on the input cable
2. Connect output 1 from the splitter to the Humax receiver
3. Connect the Humax receiver to the TV with an HDMI cable
4. Connect output 2 from the splitter to the DVD
5. Connect the DVD to the TV with SCART cable.

This will enable you to watch HDTV via the digital receiver and also provide an input from source (dish/cable) to your DVD player so that you can record.

If you've already set it up this way then it should work. I suspect you've connected the Humax to the DVD and TV and also the DVD to the TV.

Please try this setup and post back if you need further assistance.

I have a Humax foxsat-Hdr and wish to route my DVD player (toshiba 80-220E) through it to save long scart runs, the manual is opaque on this point - any ideas, Nick Yates

Just connect the scart from the dvd to the dvd scart on the humax. Viewing the dvd player output is attained by pressing the source button on the humax remote.

Humax Foxsat HDR sudden Remote Control failure..

Make sure you have pressed the "PVR" button at the top. If you have accidentally pressed on on the others TV, DVD or AUDIO then they will light up when you press another button signifying that the remote is trying to send a signal to them rather than the PVR...which is where you want it to go.

How to connect a humax foxsat-hd to a panasonic dmr 75eb recorder,to a panasonic th42px60b plasma tv,also will i get better result using component cable instead of scart lead. please can you...

You plug the humax into the panasonic dvd recorder and then from the outputs of the dvd recorder plug it into the panasonic plasma inputs

Is component video better than RGB? Well, yes and no, RGB provides the widest bandwidth and is the best choice for connecting audio visual devices like a Freeview box, digibox or Sky+ box to your TV, home cinema or home theatre system. DVD is however different, to reduce the amount of storage required DVDs are recorded using component video, it is therefore better to connect a DVD player via a component video cable to your TV, plasma or LCD TV etc.
