I tried to remove the agitator, but cannot get it out. Any other suggestions?

This worked perfectly for me. After many people trying to remove it manually we gave up and just put in another wash and it worked itself out.

He 4.6 cu. Ft. Washer with a material coming up from under neath the agitator

If you're noticing material coming up from underneath the agitator in your HE 4.6 cu. ft. washer, there could be a few reasons for this issue. It's important to address the problem to ensure proper functioning of the washing machine. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. **Check for Loose Items:** Sometimes, small items like socks or undergarments can get caught under the agitator during the wash cycle. This can cause them to be pushed up and visible. Carefully remove the agitator and check for any foreign objects underneath.
2. **Inspect Agitator Components:** Some washing machines have removable agitator components, such as a fabric softener dispenser or a cap covering the center of the agitator. Check if any of these components are loose or damaged, causing material to come up from underneath.
3. **Agitator Dogs or Cogs:** Some agitators have agitator dogs or cogs that help move the agitator in different directions during the wash cycle. If these dogs are worn out or damaged, they might not grip the agitator properly, leading to material coming up from underneath. Replace the agitator dogs if necessary.
4. **Excessive Vibration:** If the washing machine is experiencing excessive vibration during the spin cycle, it could cause material to be pushed up from underneath the agitator. Check if the machine is level and properly balanced.
5. **Worn Agitator Splines:** The connection between the agitator and the agitator shaft might have worn splines, causing the agitator to move unevenly and allow material to come up from underneath. In this case, you might need to replace the agitator or the agitator assembly.
6. **Inspect the Tub Seal:** Check the tub seal, which is located between the agitator and the inner tub. If the seal is damaged or worn, it could allow water and debris to enter the space underneath the agitator.
7. **Professional Inspection:** If you're unable to determine the cause of the material coming up from under the agitator, or if the issue persists after troubleshooting, it's recommended to contact a professional appliance technician. They can perform a thorough inspection and provide a proper diagnosis.
Remember, working with washing machine components requires caution and sometimes specialized tools. If you're unsure about any aspect of troubleshooting or repair, it's best to seek professional assistance to avoid causing further damage or compromising safety.

How to install agitator?

On a top loader, the very top of the agitator will pry/pop off. Inside you'll see the "agitator dogs" These are what cause the agitator to grab and wash the clothes. Under the dogs you'll fine a small bolt that holds the agitator blades onto the drive shaft.

Will fill and go through all cycles but will not actualy wash

Sounds like the agitator dogs are worn, these are located under the agitator. They grip in small (gear like) Usually the top of the spinner can be unscrewed, after that a long extension and ratchet to remove a bolt at the bottom of the agitator. The agitator can be removed at this point and you will see the dogs. Check this site out, all the info about different dogs and blown up view of the agitator and removal. When you go to sit, type in agitator dogs. DavesRepair.com

Re Kenmore Model 110, need to replace the 4 ''dogs'' in top part of agitator. Top of agitator won't come off. Suggestions?

Remove the center bolt. Pull the agitator out and turn it upside down and the cam and dogs will drop out in your hand. Use a strap under the agitator for leverage if it seems stuck, .

Fisher and Paykel ECS Washing machine agitator slipping?

There are "dogs" under tops of some agitators. Easy to repair. ID them and pull up washing machine parts at Amazon. Dogs are by themselves(3 hard plastic gadgets) but better to buy the whole thing that hold the dogs. Usually under $10.00.

You need to replace little gears called agitator dogs. Once agitator is removed pull top half of it off. Exposes the dog carrier.
