On the screen on my Canon MV301 I always have a red blinking "thing" - its positioned underneath the battery image and slighly to the left of the battery, and looks like a "man in a boat".
I can't find my user manual anywhere so wonder what on earth this is?
Grateful for any assitance!
This symbol indicates that the backup (date/time) battery CR2025 needs to be replaced. This battery is held in a holder that slides out from the bottom of the camera. Pages 8 and 104 in the manual (available here) detail how to do this.

Thanks guys. Camera is 15 years old, doesn't get much use these days however have noticed this red flashing symbol on the display in recent years for which I couldn't find any reference to it in the manual at all. Maybe Canon expects users to upgrade camera before the battery expires. Thanks again. Keep up the good word.
