The battery probably needs charging. The camera will automatically shut down if the battery is going flat.
With the Exilim you need to make sure that you don't overcharge the battery by leaving it permanently docked in it's little docking station - this can damage the battery. There is an LED on the docking station which shows the status of the battery. Red is charging, green is fully charged - take it off the docking station.

Also, try this, from a similar problem:-

Touch the positive (+)end of the 9v battery to the positive (+) end of the camera battery.Leave them touching for a few seconds (10 seconds should be more thansufficient). Seems these lithium-ion batteries are subject to a'digital memory.' Subjecting it to a volt surge almost three timeshigher seems to clear it.

My Casio Exilim EX-Z80 wont turn on

The lens barrels are jamming someplace. wen the camera moves the lens out immediately pop out the battery so that it stays and then turn the zoom from the outer most barrel in the direction it comes out side. Do not force it too much. If that works fine other wise take it to the service center

Camera lens stuck

The lens has probably got something in the retraction mechanism that is stopping it retracting. This can be something as simple as sand or grit or as a result of a drop or knock. In most cases the camera will need to be stripped apart to remove the lens assy before it can be repaired. This is best left to a professional camera repair shop.

Casio Exilim EX-Z60 won't turn on

This happened to me too, fiddle with the lens as its obviously stuck. Don't be too rough but try to figure out if it is slightly bent.

You will only be able to this if the lens is sticking out a little, enough to get a grip.

Good luck

Casio EXILIM camera lens will not extend fully!!!

Try plugging the PC interface cord into the external connector. No need to hook it up to your computer, just plug it in and out a few times. Then try to power up the camera.
Good luck.

Casio exilim ex-z55 lens gear problem

You may be lucky like me .My wife turned on the Casio Lens down and got same problem as you.
I dismantled the front face of camera to gain access to the lens system and found that one of the plastic sprockets had its teeth slightly twisted!I managed to straightened these carefully with a knife and now Casio good as new....zoom also working perfectly.
This is an easy fix and from what I hear people are giving up on an out of warranty camera, when in fact they maybe abke to easily fix it themselves.
I dont mind helping anyone ...my email is [email protected].

The lens on my camera won't retract.

The following blog outlines some repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:

Casio Exilim EX-Z3 not working (accidentally dropped on carpet)

Does the lens retract when you shut the camera off? Or at least press the On/Off button?

It doesn't sound like there is a problem with the lens if your buttons aren't working, it sounds mostly to me that a cable got dislodged and that has disabled your buttons and zoom switch.

You can try sending it to this guy - www.darntoothysam.com he might beable to help you.

Faulty zoom mechanism

Your lens will need to be disassembled, and most likely replaced.  If the lens housing inside is not broken, it can possibly be repaired.  Otherwise, the lens assembly will need to be replaced.
