Emachine- volume icon keeps popping up on the screen-cant't get rid of it

this due to the faulty micro controller of the monitor, its better take it to the technician

1. Press the Fn key and while holding it down, press the F8 key momentarily to toggle muting of the speaker. An icon of the speaker appears at the bottom middle of the screen showing muting on or off.
2. After making sure the muting is off (no slash symbol on the speaker icon), press and hold Fn again.
3. With Fn pressed, press the key with the upward triangle and speaker symbol to increase volume which is shown at the bottom middle of the screen by the green lettering & vertical bars Volume ''''''''''''
4. With Fn pressed, press the key with the downward triangle and speaker symbol to decrease volume which is shown at the bottom middle of the screen by the green lettering & vertical bars Volume '''

Hello, just right click on your taskbar then click Properties. Under the first tab click the Customize button under 'Notification Area'. Under the scroll box there is a blue link 'Turn system icons on or off' that will give you the option.

when the volume icon is pops onto your screen right click on it select delete also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar

The on-screen volume control icon on the Taskbar can be restored as follows....
1. right-click on a blank spot on the Taskbar
2. click on Properties at the bottom of the resulting pop-up window
3. in the Notification area of the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window
4. click the Customize button beside the check-marked Hide inactive icons
5. in Customize Notifications, grab the slider bar on the right side and slide down
6. click on the row with the Name "Volume" and on its Behavior click v and set it to Always show

Check your display buttons along with the keyboard and mouse, to see if you have any key stuck down, or being pressed. Is there any other devices connected to the emachine that could be causing this behavior?

As a monitor tech, I have to say. You two dopes are completley useless. My son, LB who suffers from severe downsyndrome among other ailments. Quickly figured out that if he stuffed the eraser he was eating between the base and the menu button, the problem would go away.

Congrats on being outsmarted by my disabled son who eats pennies and erasers.

Wondering if you resolved it and how I was having the same issue have taken my screen apart and it is not the button pressing seems to be a deeper routed issue. I have tried driver re-install, change of start up and various other items none are resolving it. I think it maybe a issue directly related to the manufactoring of the E181H Monitor.

just press the menu button again it leaves the screen. simple

Icons burnt into screen since there was no screensaver or sleep.
