I have an att 8525 and I get the white screen every now and then. I did put the foam in the phone as suggested on various web sites and that worked for a while. Now it has come back - if I cool the phone (freezer for a few minutes) it will work again. This seems to be a common problem on HTC phones (8525, 8925) it there a fix that I may be able to do? (new screen, cable, ????)
Thanks
There may be a physical issue with your screen. You can get the part at HTC 8525 Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at HTC Repair Guide.
I have a small solution to what all of you are having with the black screen. I had the same problem so, what you want to do is keep pressing the power button. You do not turn the phone off, you will just put it in standby mode and then back on. If you keep doing that the screen will turn back on but you can not let the back light go out.

I have the same problem and it started happening after AT&T replaced my original phone with this.
me too! it seems that when att 8525 gets warm my screen goes blank. the phone still works i just can't see what's the applications are. i've dropped it a few times but the problem just started one day after i left it in the car on a hot day.
white screen on a htc 8525
The white screen can be temporarily fixed by holding the phone firmly in your palm and stricking it with an open palm, with your other hand. I got this from a site when I first began seeing the problem. Again, it is a temporary fix; AT&T does not care to fix the problem. They have made their money on this model in this ever-changing mobile market. This problem reduces this phone to a bag full of high-tech, useless gadgets....therefore, we the owners are just "left holding the bag". Coach
