Nokia 6681 When ever I top up on my vodafone prepaid card, the phone or something on the phone automatically starts sending messages such as: "Live 3D driver with polyphonic virtual speakers","**** images collection with nice viewer","MS-DOS emulator for SymbianOS. Nokia Series 60 only. Try it","Matrix has you. Remove matrix!" to other contacts from my address book so if I have credit, it uses it all up. Once finished, it still keeps sending but since no credit I keep receiving messages from Vodafone "Sys Alert-Transaction failed-insufficient funds-please recharge. You have not been charged for this message". Now I have stopped crediting my account and therefore cannot make contact with anyone. Is this a virus? Can you please, please tell me a solution to fix this problem.

First let me inform you that this is a virus attack.  it is activated on your phone when you receive a mysterious bluetooth message and open to see what it is.  Initially, it seems as if nothing is wrong with your phone but all of a sudden, the phone starts sending messages.

You you need do is to first upgrade the firmware via at Nokia's website  http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4226014, install it on your PC and then unto your phone via USB cable.  If you have done it before, you need to do it again.  I would advice that you only back up everything else except your phone settings before you install.

Next you need to download and install an antivirus software for your phone.  I believe F-Secure is good.  You can download and install free from http://europe.nokia.com/A4144384 for 1 month.

If your phone is working  normally, I would advice that you disable your bluetooth and never leave it on when you are in a public place as this is this can easily expose you to virus attack.

HI I am not sure your question but I can tell that your phone is ok but the prepaid service need to be reset. This case, only Vodafone can help you since the pre-paid phone has been locked by them. this is probably virus cause but I am not 100% sure since your phone is still locked to vodafone as a pre-paid unit. This set needs to have vodafone service and they may have their own software to reset the service for you. I hope this will help.

I cannot send messages from my nokia 8250. it says CHECK OPERATOR SERVICES I can receive messages ok

If you are a prepaid users the best thing you can do is buy a prepaid card. But before doing that, check if you still have remaining balance. If your you outstanding balance is not enough to send text message, that is the time you need to reload you prepaid credits. But if your a postpaid users, maybe your monthly bill is over due and you or your disconnected to the service. Call your service provider will help you on how to fix this problem.

Nokia 6681 Restarts automatically

Type *#7370# and give phone security code. This is a soft format. If no result, go to a better mobile servicing center. Make a whole flash (mobile phones OS repair). Still have problem, change UM chip. Keep informing.

GPRS active

I assume you are using a pre paid sim card. It would be better to call the customer care of your service provider(voda phone) and then you have to apply for their gprs tariffs.
