My iBook G4 keeps telling me to restart it and then when it loads to the desktop it just keeps coming up with the signal- Restart your computer and the screen freezes. I have tried restarting it several times and the same thing keeps happening. Help!
You may have installed something in the startup items folder that your mac isn't liking.
When you turn the iBook on, press the shift key as soon as you hear the startup tone. hold it down until you see the gray apple screen. This will get you into safe mode, hopefully then you'll be able to fix whatever you did from there.
If you are still at a loss, get in touch.
It will enable you to get to your system and remove anything you installed that may be causing this issue. What was the last piece of software that you installed? If you are like me and rarely fully shutdown your mac, it may take a little investigation as to what caused the crash.
If you are convinced the system has froze on the gray screen. reboot and try again.
Let me know how it goes.
