Use a trickle charger no more than 2 amps. Initial charge will take 8-16 hours if done this way. The dealership can put a service charge on it which usually takes an hour, but I have found that the battery doesn't last as long this way.
Low battery charge, Battery Defective(Could have a bad cell), Loose or missing alternator drive belt, Faulty Alternator, Open or short system voltage circuit
Mine works when plugged in, but dead when not plugged. Found fuse, subtly hidden in lower part of AC power receptacle; pried out with small screw driver. Looked good & passed ohmmeter check. I loved the beast when it functioned. It spent a year in the garage; it didn't work when I brought it in. Charge light on for 8 seconds after plugging in, then off.
Take the battery out. Then put it back in. I couldn't find anything that would work but doing a hard reset. Once I did that the phone worked again. I lost everything but my phone works again.
To hard reset the Virgin Venture please follow the instructions below:
Start with the phone turned off.
Press power button until the phone turns on and vibrates.
Press and hold the up volume button until you see the word hello.
Release the up volume button. Note: You will see the word hello on the screen for about 5-7 seconds.
The screen will display the android guy next to an exclamation point inside a triangle.
Press the home button to access Android system recovery screen.
Scroll to and select wipe data/factory reset. Note: The volume button scrolls and the enter/return key selects
Scroll to and select Yes.
The Venture will reset.
Select reboot system now.
The Venture will reboot to the initial setup screen
These have a small lithium rechargeable battery inside and prolonged charging (like overnight) tends to cause them to stop charging. You may even notice the battery is swollen if you remove the cover.
I've replaced the battery in a few of these using a battery of the same size & voltage/amps that I found on eBay. There are other sources but I've found that if you type in the numbers on your battery you'll find a match there. It is a bit of a wait, but usually they're not as expensive and offer low cost or free shipping.
There's probably a local supplier of these, I just haven't explored that route, you may try the WWW approach.
By the way, all of your music/videos files & such should be fine.
I actually use some of the defective broken MP3 & MP4 players as thumb drives holding Windows programs on them to transfer into new PC's. Currently they are as you described yours, but the data is still there.
Go to web site WWW.HMASERVICE.COM and register your vehicle by VIN #. You'll then have access to shop manuals, wiring diagrams, technical service bulletins, illustrations, etc. Provided there is no problem with the vehicle's wiring, find out what the charging current is to the battery. I've seen batteries which TEST good, but when under a CHARGE short out internally. Example: Tested a battery & charging system on a Hyundai Elantra, the battery tested "Healthy" but indicated there was a CHARGING SYSTEM PROBLEM. I checked the battery voltage while the engine was running and found the battery voltage at 14.3 VDC (which was normal). I then used a Digital DC Clamp meter arount the positive (+) battery cable & found the battery was charging at 70 Amps!.. it was supposidly already fully charged (should have only been taking 4 to 6 amps when fully charged).
Best guess without looking/diagnosing the vehicle myself
This chart details the specifics of what each 'beep code' means. Usually the codes come in series of 2-3 beeps not just one.

You should also make sure the 'dummy' stuff is done, like remove any floppy disks or CDs from the drive if you have one, and remove any USB drives from the laptop as they may try to boot off of them and not be able to. If you've done that, then check the chart in the link for further information. Sadly a non booting, beeping computer isn't a good sign. If I can be of any more help, please let me know.
Hope this response helps you out.
Best of luck!
I strive for '4 Thumbs Up'! If I've assisted you, I'd greatly appreciate you taking the time
to provide me with a favorable rating. Thanks so much!
Have you done charging the battery initially for 6hrs. The best way to get maximum efficiency & output from a battery is to charge the battery initially for 6hrs (evenif the full battery notification is shown), Then drain the battery almost full and repeat the procedure three times.
Don't you bought the original Battery? Please check that too.
