Have you set up the webcam on MSN using Tools? Make sure that the inbuilt webcam is the default; you should see your picture appear.

You CAN'T use your camera on MSN and on any other program at the same time. Turn off any other programs that might be using your webcam, then restart MSN. It should help. If not - download the newest version of MSN messenger.

How do i use my web cam on msn on my aspire one netbook?

Here are the steps to use web cam on MSM:-
Log in to your account at the MSN Web site.
Locate the "Webcam" icon underneath your display picture.
Click the "Webcam" icon.
Select "Send My Webcam" to the person that you want to send your video to.
Wait for your chat partner to accept your Webcam invitation. Once he or she accepts it, your live video feed will begin.
Finish sending the video feed by clicking the "Webcam" icon once again.
Open the MSN Messenger program on your computer.

Show or Hide Your Webcam
Open MSN Messenger on your computer.
Click the "Tools" menu and then select "Options" from the drop-down list.
Locate the "Personal" link and click it with your mouse.
Find the "My Webcam" area and either select or de-select next to where it says "Allow Others to See That I Have a Webcam." This is handy for letting those in your chat list know whether you can have a video chat with them--whether or not they have Webcams.
Good luck, do rate the solution if got help

HP dv2000 laptop webcam

i would try to uninstall and reinstall your messenger software. restart after uninstall.

If it still fails, try to download the newest drivers for your webcam.

and also check if your webcam works with another messenging program like skype or msn messenger... your firewall on your PC could be blocking the webcam data stream

Can't transmit video via MSN Messenger

As long as she is accepting your call when invited it should show up a little MSN advert then show your picture. The problem may be at your end, so check that you have the cam set up in settings and you both allow video to be accepted, ckeck all the web cam settings and menu options. If you haven't already, download MSN live messenger.
