Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

hope this helps

SOURCE: I PLUG IN MY EMACHINES W3107 IT STARTS RUNING BUT

It's probably caused by the RAM, have it checked. If you can do it yourself, clean the RAM as shown in the image below:
a870c24.jpg
Install it back to the computer and turn it on. If problems persist try another RAM, it may already need replacement.

In case your computer has 2 RAMS installed, clean them both. To test if there is a busted one, install the one then turn on the PC, if it works shut down the PC. Then try the other one, if it works too then it just needs some cleaning. But if not, one of them needs replacement. You can still use your computer with 1 RAM, just don't expect the same performance as having two RAM. Also reset the CMOS of the motherboard. It may also help in the process.

Please reply if this has helped you. Thanks.

SOURCE: Emachine w3507 blue light only

If you get nothing but a blue light and no video at all it sounds like you have a bad power supply. They are easy enough to check and replace but not for a first timer. If you know someone who knows more; get a volt meter and put it on the DC scale. Unplug a power plug to a drive or find one that is not used. Measure the Yellow to black and then the red to black wires. You should get 12 & 5 volts respectively.

My emachine desktop tower will not power on

the sound you are hearing or heard could have been power surging through a powersupply unit that just blew.. hopfully it did not effect any of the other hardware..to trouble shoot this you can do one of two things..1 disconnect the 20/24 pin powerconnector from the motherboard 2 disconnect the cpu power connector 3 disconnect the 6pin power connector from the graphics card if there is one some machines have onboard video chipsets if thats the case then no worries 4 disconnect the Harddrive power 5 jump the power supply to see if you get any power from it any questions on that go to youtube and type in how to jump a power supply... or option 2 is buy a new power supply make sure its 80plus certified and replace it...i know its a lot of work but i hope this has helped you

Powering up problems.

Try using another monitor that you know works. Then try another video card. The fans are running because the computer is running ---but the monitor is not. Green to Amber means monitor is not on.
A lot can go wrong with loose wires that shouldn't be loose.
But I would try this first.
