Canon d760 has an e000 error code...how do i fix it

I have a Canon Image Class D760 copier and there is an System Error E000, what does that mean? I turned it off and plugged it back in and it still says the same thing. Help

E000 means there is some thing wrong with your fixing unit.machine is not detecting required temprature from fixing unit. remove fixing unit and check all connector.if all is ok then replace heater or replace fixing unit.

When your copier power input voltage is abnormal then arise this code.or fuser lamp is not on.

Solution: Reset the unit-IC D/PC 1000 Series

Reset the unit

Slide the platen to the left.
Slide the platen back to the right until it locks in place.

Here is what Canon says about the error code:

Solution: Reset the unit-IC D/PC 1000 Series

Reset the unit

Slide the platen to the left.
Slide the platen back to the right until it locks in place.
