My whirlpool cabrio washer has started running water constantly. If the water to the machine is on it runs constantly even if the washer is turned off and unplugged.

you probably got coins or junk in the water pump on the bottom back of washer and it poked a hole in the housing. Thats what happened to me

three places,,all in one area..the pump,,,the drain hose to the pump (in unit),,or the tub topump hose...one of them is defective..onthejob...if you need instructions on how to get in unit reply ..

the ld code means a long drain, what you probably have is something blocking the drain pump.
you can get to the drain pump from the back of the unit and it will be the pump on the left as you face the back.
you will need to remove the hose going into the pump and be ready for water to come out. sorry but you need to check inside the hose as there will be something blocking it. like a coin or some lint or a small sock.
when you get the item out of the hose then it should work again. you do not need to reset the control. once it knows the unit is draining properly it will be ok.
