You can clean the lens with a small amount of windex and put a little oil like 3 and 1 oil on the spindle motor shaft and on the sled rails. Good luck !

The center cone on the hub could be a problem if the player was not for the right juke. Each brand has their own style. (If you still have the old player, check and make sure the the hubs are the same.) The center cone on the hubs are glued in place so if they are different you might be able to pop the old one off and replace it to the new player. One other problem could also be the magnetic pressure disk that is supposed to hold the disk on the hub. Is it centered in the hold down arm or does it rub the sides? Does the disk wobble as it spins? The magnetic disk is supposed to hold it down on the hub to prevent it from wobbling and coming off the turntable.

Cleaner disks are a waste. You're better off cleaning the lens with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol

i have repaired nsm jukes with same problem sometimes its the cd laser at fault other times the opto

sounds like it has a faulty laser and it wont read so the player stops the cd spin motor. try cleaning it and see if it works

Hello Alison hi, we need to check two parts to see which is the problem section why your player wont read.

1. Does your CD spins normally, check your player if the cd spins normally, if you can see the disk spinning, take note of the spin, is it to slow? An abnormal disk spin has problems with its spindle motor assembly.
2. Does your CD spins and then slow down to a stops, did not read the disk. This is caused by two things, FIRST: your CD player lens needs cleaning, you can buy a CD lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, SECOND: The lens has degraded or worn out due to use and time, this needs a replacement lens assembly.

This things are way beyond a normal user, I suggest you send it for service. Sorry, there are no user serviceable parts here.

check that power cable to rom is plugged in....if still no spin, then replace cd rom unit

HI, this is a basic spin motor fault. This unit will require service at this point. The actual affected motor is buried within the optical assembly, and will require a set of precision tools to disassemble correctly and safely.
Replacing this damaged spin motor will correct this issue.

Quite possibly is the motor if it is spinning on and off u need to clean lens or buy a new one!!!
