Gateway Solo 9550 bios unlock password master

I have a second hand Gateway Solo 9550 laptop. The Bios is locked by bios password and I am trying to find the master unlock password for this model computer. Is there one out there ?

I finally found one . it was a blog site that had scripts to download that took the number that you get when you enter 3 wrong passwords. You download the script and then enter that number into the box, you click enter and it presents you with possible passwords for the particular bios you have . The first one I entered turned out to be the one needed to unlock my bios. Here is the link to the Blog . make sure you read it completely before proceeding .

There isn't one, either take the laptop apart and remove the CMOS battery for 10 seconds or download and burn hiren 15 to a CD and use one of the CMOS password wipers.

How long did you leave the battery out?
To discharge the BIOS you need to short out the battery contacts, or disconnect the battery for 1/2+ hours.
If this does not work the it is near impossible to remove because the password would be stored on an EEPROM chip.
Check with Gateway, they might suggest a motherboard replacement just like IBM.

Hi,

The only thing I can come up with is to clear the bios by shorting the mainboard at the "Bios Clear" point.

Other than that have a loo at this website: http://rahulhackingarticles.wetpaint.com/page/Clear+BIOS+Password,+All+tricks+!

Good page, interesting reading if your in to Tech.

Thanks

Simplest is to remove the battery for a while so the password is lost.

SOURCE: unknow password in bios on gateway solo pro 9300 will not start

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk.

A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:

In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method.

Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.

When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.

Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.

B. By Using Software:

I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds

u may need to "FLASH" BIOS with a new firmware/software that goes into the BIOS chip, that will require a hardware engineer to do, else to reset BIOS you can try removing the COMS battery from the Motherboard and reinstalling it after 2 - 3 hrs, also in that time keep pressing the power switch of you PC for few minutes without the power supply and without the power cable attached to the PC.
