When I turn my ACER 3515 on it asks me for a HDD password. How do I reset this?

for you to reset this password, you need to remove almost every component of your laptop. Turn off the laptop, remove cables and battery, remove the screws on all the corners of it, remove hard drive, optical drive, then remove the CMOS battery (circle with silver coating; press the upward **** on it). By removing it, it will reset the HDD password and will not ask your laptop to type any password. If you can't do it, you may ask a computer technician to tear down the laptop for you...

My hard drive ask for a primary password when starting windows

Hi,

Inorder to reset the BIOS password, you have to open the laptop from the back, locate the CMOS battery, remove it and press down the terminal (with the help of a screw driver) for 5 sec, now turn ON the computer (keep on holding the terminal) short the BIOS. Now, Turn off the computer and restart the computer, it will reset the BIOS password.

Thanks and regards,

Acer extensa 4220 bios password

There's no way that we can determine the BIOS password of your laptop. But if you can disassemble your laptop and locate the CMOS battery you can remove the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS together with the password. After resetting the CMOS battery you will no longer be asked to enter a password for the BIOS when you turn on your computer. However, there are instances that even though you reset the CMOS it's still asking for the password, for this concern, the computer manufacturer should deal with this concern.

Blank screen on desktop (dell inspiron 530s); requesting a password.

Someone has turned on the BIOS password on you and therefore the PC will not let you boot up unless you enter the correct password. The problem is you cannot turn off the password option unless you know the password. I would start by asking other people who had access to you computer what they set the password to. If nobody comes clean, then you will have to call Dell Tech Support to get them to reset the password for you. They will give you a master BIOS password to override the one set and turn off the option.
