SOURCE: my toshiba satellite p200 keeps turning off randomly.

Hi,

Often this indicates that the battery is nearing its end of life. Even when plug and using the AC adapter/charger, this would occur if the electrical consumption is always at its peak. Noticeable is especially when the built-in WiFi card is in use.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

My Toshiba Satellite M65-S809 Laptop will not turn on! However it turns on randomly sometimes when i toy around with it, but that happens rarely. I tried removing battery, and cable to take out the static,...

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

My toshiba satellite p35-s605 shuts itself off

Hi,
It certainly could be a case of a bad motherboard but i would check the air vents for dust that may have clogged up, even though the fan may appear to be working fine if there is dust built up inside the unit there is nowhere for the hot air to vent, this will in turn cause the laptop to shut down unexpectedly.
Also go into the BIOS and set it to default settings just in case someone has set a shutdown temperature.

Regards.

Toshiba Satellite A100 LE4000 Turns Off Randomly

there must be still a problem with your current cooling system. try cleaning up your laptops fan. cpu gets heated up very easily even if you turned it off for a while. you can do this by unscrewing the parts, the inside must be pretty dusty or something. this also happened to me but from a different unit.

also, try checking for the latest bios driver for your laptop and to be sure, download it on toshiba site itself. because latest drivers for your bios also manages the control of your cpu fans.

if you could also get access to your systems cooling options in bios, try checking if your cpu's temperature are doing fine.

but i prefer you cleaning up the inside fans as well. hope this helps.

Laptop monitor goes black

If you're working on the computer when that happens, it's not probably a power setting. Try to update your BIOS to the most current version at the toshiba support website (support.toshiba.com) & see what happens. Fixes the issue most of the time

I hope this helps.
