How do I correct the CC028 error that requires me to restart on every second scan. It is horribly tedious and frustrating

This issue occurs if you have installed incompatible software onto your Mac. The Brother machine's Scanner driver and CUPS printer driver are bundled into Mac OSX 10.6. The operating system will detect the printer and install the appropriate driver. Please consult the Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard Support Statement for a complete list of Brother Machines that have bundled drivers available.

Scanning images onto mac

The scanner driver is separate from the printer driver. This link will take you to the downloads page of Brother-usa.com, where you select the machine family, then the specific model. Click the downloads link at the bottom, then, and you'll get to a page to select what you want and for what OS. Brother lists Mac os's from 9.x to 10.6.
Even if you have a driver on CD, the website usually has a newer version.

Lexmark 2600 scanning to MAC-no can do

Edward, I have this same problem. Were you able to solve it? Anyone, can you help? I have installed the drivers. When I connect the printer to my Mac, it launches ImageCapture and previews the scan fine. But I am unable to get the "scan" button to become active, adn there is no place to save the scan. If I click "save pdf to iphoto" it saves a pdf of the entire screen, rather than just the photo. Appears not to be Mac compatible for scanning purposes. Thank you for your help.

My brother won't scan

Never mind. I went to http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/eu/eu_ot/en/model_top/colormfc/mfc210c_all.html?reg=eu&c=eu_ot&lang=en&prod=mfc210c_all and downloaded a program called "Brother Control Center"(version 2.4.2.) and now my scanner works just splendidly!

Turn off your machine, disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable to your computer.

Scanner not being recognized

Knowing your PC-System would be helpful: Is it Win (and what version) or is it Mac?).

Did you connect to a USB-hub? This wont work! You have to connect directly to a USB-port of your PC.

Do connect only by a USB-cable NO longer than 2-3m!

Have you tried a new driver? Did it work before? What program are you using to try your scanning?
