Dimplex DS5804 remote unit

Blow up while on and pluged in outlet. kicked breaker and now I'll need to replace outlet plus remote unit to be able to use the remote. Any idea what causes these units to do this? Is this been happening to this particular models. Bought this stove in October of 2005. Had been good for our use all this time. Where can I purchase the part so it is useable with the remote. Ernie

My Dimplex Charmglow model #6906330900 was working fine for several years. Using the remote, I tried to turn the unit on. When it didn't go on, I checked the plug, only to find out that the "power" plug that obviously controls the remote action (that I actually plug the electric stove into) was smoldering. I quickly unplugged the "power plug from the electrical source, and unplugged the electric cord from the stove from the "power unit". My plug is ok, and the electric stove seems to be working ok, albeit without the remote capability. Has there been a recall of this "power" remote plug-in? What is the company doing for this problem? Please advise ASAP [email protected]

Here is the answer I received for the same problem:

Dimplex has discontinued use of the remotecontrol unit you have requested; therefore we are no longer able to providethis as a replacement part. In order to operate your unit please plugyour power cord directly into your wall outlet and operate the stove via themanual switches.

Bulb blew in my dimplex michigan fire, model MCN20. I now can't get the bulbs to switch off with either the remote control or the on/off switch.

Stewart, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet and wait 12 - 15 minutes. Then plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set the function controls manually (not with the remote) one at a time. If everything works as it should, the fire reset itself during the 12 - 15 minute timeout. If it didn't or that problem continues to reoccur, contact Dimplex North America, Technical Service at 888-346-7539.

Hope this helped you solve the problem.

My heater motor stoped turning and blowing but the heat strip kept heating and melted the rotating fan . It is a 20406D7F 077 can I order a whole complete replacement unit

Yes, you probably can. Plus, Dimplex should be made aware of this. Contact Dimplex Technical Service 888-346-7539, Monday -Friday, 8a -4:30p ET. Have the model number, serial number and proof of purchase, handy when you call.

Hope this helps you get the parts you need.

Hi I have a Dimplex electric fireplace model# CS3311. I had the Remote Receiver plugged into the wall outlet and the Unit Plug was plugged into the side of the Remote Receiver, just like it says to do in...

Lisa, apparently there was an electrical overload in the receiver box. I assume this electric stove is new and still under warranty. In which case, armed with your Proof of Purchase, you need to contact Dimplex USA or the retailer you purchased it from.

My dimplex has a remote control box that plugs into the outlet. I haven't used it for a year or more. smelled something hot when it was on. the outlet & box was very hot, the bottom of the box was...

You definitely have an electrical problem either with the remote box or the the A/C unit itself. Something within either of the aforementioned is overheating and use of the air conditioner should be stopped immediately, as it is a fire risk. Unplug everything from the wall outlet and contact a service company that services Dimplex Air Conditioners. This is not a DIY fix!

Does dimplex model 6902340100 have a fuse, stopped working no fan, no light took back panel off could not find a visable fuse.

My friend just had the same problem. It turned out to be the Remote Control box,( the little box you plug the Fireplace into so you can use the Remote). He just plugged the Fireplace straight into the wall outlet, (without the Remote) and now it works fine.

How much voltage can a standard electrical outlet take? Can a deep freezer be plugged into the same outlet as a microwave?

No a deep Freezer can not be pluged is to the same outlet as a micro. The reason why is if you are using the microwave and the freezer goes on it will pull tomuch power and blow the breaker. You need to have them on seperate lines.

1700 watt fog machine keep tripping GFC and blowing fog machine fuse

the fog machine needs to be on a dedicated line because of the wattage it does and the amp is rated as a 15 means the circuit breaker on this line needs to be 15 min safe at 20....
the fog machine is like a mircrowave and any major appliance needs dedicated lines not shared with lights or outlets besause it draws a lot of power to start and run and depends how long watts is simular to power the more light bulbs connect to a circuit breaker adds up 4 75w light bulbs adds up to 300 watts and that not includling outlets that may be connected....
not a gfci Unless dedicated at 20a....

Dimplex DS5804 (similar to DS5603) turns on, but no fan to push heat.

A simple way to check the thermostat is to by-pass it. remove the wires from it, and connect them together. If the heat works after that, Its a no brain-er. The thermostat is just an adjustable temperature controlled switch.
