Pinnale Dazzle DVD recorder doesn't recognize VCR

Installed software and connected Dazzle DVD recorder. No problems. Device recognized. Connected my VCR (JVC HRS6611). Instant DVD recorder reports 'no signal'.
Afterwards connected my DV-camera-output to the Dazzle and everything seems to work.
Do you know a workaround? Is there a list of (not) supported VCR's?
Regards,
Gert

On the start up of the instant DVD recorder program, you can either use the "let the wizard guide you" or "advance mode"

1. Select source:
you should select the options:

Video standard NTSC (Because this is the default in our region)
Video composite - if you are using RCA (red, yellow and white cables)
S-video - if you are using the cable with several pins in it.

2. Select Burner
You should select the options:
Hard disc folder - if you will be saving the content in your hard drive, the format of this files are DVD such as VOB and IFO etc.
TSST - _ _ _ _ - if you will selecting your DVD drive.

(If you have selected your DVD Burner and you cannot click "next" to proceed to the Third option,
this means that your DVD drive is not able to burn a DVD)

3. Select menus
It must be NO

4. Recording
select total recording time (make sure that dazzle is selected in the "select source" to set the total recording time)

Just bought and loaded programe but keeps asking for recording mins but cant enter the minets in the box curser wont activate the box

To fix this problem.

Please go back tot he step 1 select video source.
Make sure that the dazzle device is selected and not Pinnacle file capture.

If the dazzle device is not in the list. It means that the computer is not recognizing the device. Try to connect the device to other USB port and please check it again.

You can download the driver of the capture device in the link below.

I am trying to use the Dazzle hooked up with my VCR ( I have done it before) but now the VCR is not playing the movie (can't see the video on my computer). The VCR is basic, it doesn't have an S Video

The setup should be like this.

VHS > RCA > Dazzle > Computer.

The cable must be connected at the back Audio/Video output not in the Input.

Please check also the online documentation below.

No video displayed in the Instant DVD Recorder preview window.

I have brought the Dazzle Platinum PVR with Pinnacle Studio HD 14 and the studio says there is 'no device found' when my Dazzle is connected to my laptop via a USB port, what do I do to get the studio to...

Hi there,

I haven't used this program myself, but speaking from experience in using similar programs, there might be an option inside the preferences menu, where you need to set that device to the current connected device in order for this program to recognize it.
If that doesn't work, go to Start > Programs, then look for the Pinnacle application. Right-click on it and select Troubleshoot Compatibility.
If that doesn't work, you can try updating the Driver and the Firmware of your device through the manufacturer's website. Maybe the device itself is not installed on your computer correctly. Plugging it into the USB doesn't assure that it's going to be working properly.

If you need more specific information, or if you need any additional information, return to this page and post a response. I'll be happy to assist you further.

Installed software, hooked up dazzle to mac via rca to cable... hook up usb to open imovie on mac... computer does not recognize device or vhs machine... Light on dazzle only comes on when I first boot up...

Hi and welcome to Fixyah,

Did you mean dazzle and hooked it up to your MAC machine. I guess and I understand that you need to install the driver for your MAC OS. Because dazzle can only work with Windows Operating system. Can you please tell me if that device is Pinnacle capture for MAC?

My VCR is not detected

Hi and Welcome to fixya!

Suggest to you to disconnect all the usb device connected at the back of your computer then connect your 500-usb device. Open your Instant DVD recorder and choose go directly to Advance mode. On step number 1 make sure to choose 500-usb and not the Pinnacle file capture. After you choose it then go ahead and turn your VCR on and hit the play button.

I need a picture of how to hook up the dazzle to the vcr

If your trying to capture from a vcr make sure that the cables "composite are connected at the back make sure it is plug in to the video out.

Next, connect the cables directly to the dazzle.

make sure that the vcr is on and it is playing.

In the program Instant DVD Recorder please go to the step 1 select the dazzle as your video source not pinnacle file capture.

Then click option check the VHS input.
Video input must be composite if your using the composite
Audio input must be the dazzle.
