I have an AKAI 37” Wide_screen LCD TV/DVD Player Combo LCT3701AD. The red light is on, when I try to turn the TV on either by the remote or the power button on the TV the red light flashes red once but doesn’t go to green and the TV won’t come on. For the last two weeks I have unplugged the TV for about 5 seconds and plugged it back in and then the TV will turn on. As of today unplugging and re-plugging the TV in does not help. The TV will not come on. The red light is still on.
It sounds that, the memory IC to your TV has damaged. This IC can be located very near to main system control IC. A very small one, with 8 solder terminals. Even though it is very small, function of it while the TV works is great. The work is a semi-skilled one, and you must have some knowledge in electronics to proceed.

I have the same TV and I just replaced the Capacitors. It came with 2 10000UF 10V caps and I put in 2 1000UF 35Volt caps from radio shack. Its like brand new. There is even a video on how to change them on You Tube.

Did anyone find out the solution for this??????? I have the exact same problem with my LG 32 LCD. I only had it for a year and a half, and the green light blinks a few times and it shows no picture. Not even a red light when the tv is off. The same thing happened a couple weeks ago and by some miracle it started working again.

The problem was the power supply card. Replaced it and the TV is working fine.
I'm having the same problem
