Look closely at the jack for the microphone and you can see the small numbers that are on it. On the Roadking red and shield (bare) go to 1. White 2, Blue 3, black 4 and the yellow in the cable does not connect to anything.

Why would you not just go to your normal repair shop and ask for help, or possibly a place like Pep Boys or Action Auto?

recheck that you have the wiring correct. you will need the wiring of the cobra 2000/148gtl/grantxl... can't remember the pin outs. what you have posted is not the correct one??? i think.

there are 3 or 4 horse shoe presets inside the radio i suspect that the squelch preset is needing turned up. try turning one up at a time. remember to put it back to where it was if it is not the squelch. use a plastic screwdriver do not go putting metal screwdrivers into your radio in case of shocks. hope this helps you

There are 3 versions of this model. Here is how to turn up the power on all 3.

Early production model: Turn VR5 all the way to the left and turn VR11 all the way to the left.

Late production model: Remove VR14, turn VR13 all the way to the left.

if its brand new, its the easiest. Just turn VR6 all the way to the left.

couple things you can do . drain carb and put new gas in , check air filter ( take it off and try to start with filter off ) , open petcock , and finally take shroud off and sand the rust off the flywheel where magnets are . let me know what you find , [email protected]

pramac bought them out i just order parts today oct-15-08 call1-800-445-1805 took me awhile to get a hold of someone but she seemed to know what was going on. my guess is that the printed curciut board in the back of the generater head is bad i have had to change alot of these out.
