This happened once before to us. We unplugged it, but upon replugging it, the heating element immediately turned bright red again. Last time we fixed it by using the self cleaning option. This time it is not working. The self cleaning option will not finish. It was only supposed to be 3 hrs, and it is still going at 4. I don't know what to do with it.

I would say that the oven thermostat is malfunctioning, and you will probably need a new one fitting.
Make sure the sensor inside the oven has not become detached, as this will make a differance.
Plz leave feedback.

No heat on convection or self clean

If you have been using the self clean feature, you have probably burned out or damaged the connections to the fan and the convection fan element or thermistor. NEVER EVER use the self clean feature.

Why when i used the self cleaning option on my upper oven will it not heat anymore?

Good Morning James,

I understand you used the self-clean option on your Frigidaire oven, model# FPET2785KF, and now the top oven will not heat. I suggest resetting your appliance, by shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Once power is restored, the first thing you will need to do is set the clock. You will do this by pressing the "set clock" button, entering in the time, then pressing the "start" button. Set the upper oven for any cycle at any temperature. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your wall-oven status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Wall oven needs a reset- wont heat

Hello John, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

I understand your wall-oven is no longer heating. The wall-oven has a safety thermal to prevent the oven from overheating. If the unit will not bake or broil, more than likely the safety thermal has tripped. Other possibilities are incorrect power supply or faulty main control board. I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website.

Best regards!

Frigidaire oven will not light

The control panel behind the knobs is the most likely problem.

The heating element rarely fails.
