SOURCE: psp green light on but now screen

Try Holding the R trigger and turn the power on at the same time. This puts you n a diffreent mode, then press the display brightness button to see the version. Power off and back on agin to see if that resets it. This is only a guess I would appreciate at least a thanks for trying.

SOURCE: PSP Won't turn on

Try this>

Start with the PSP turned off. Press and hold the R button when your turning on the power. Turn it off again, then back on. Sometimes this works. If not, your PSP is probably Bricked.
This means that you done something to interupt an upload or program in progress. The eeprom program is corrupted and the PSP will not boot up. The term Bricked, refers to your PSP being no better than a black Brick paper weight. I have heard of a repair for this called Pandoras Battery. I am not sure if the Pandoras battery really works to restore Bricked PSP's. It may be worth a try for you to take a chance on Pandoras Battery.

SOURCE: My PSP wont read my battery

Try putting it in a bag of rice for a day or so, because rice absorbs moisture, so it might draw out any water still inside. Hope this helps.

When i turn on my psp the green light will come on but the screen won't come on and then a few seconds later the green light will shut off completely.

Hi tokyo_grl,
First you have to figure out what is causing the problem. Try the following steps.

1. Remove anything that is connected to the PSP, including the
Memory Stick, battery and any UMD games.
2. Plug the charger into both the wall and the PSP system, then wait for at least 30 seconds before turning the psp on.
--If the PSP turns on, your problem is not with your PSP, but with an accessory that was previously attached. If it does not turn on, your PSP is in need of a repair.
3. Next, unplug the power adapter from the PSP, and firmly place the battery into the PSP.
4. Plug in the Power Adapter once again, and wait at least 30 minutes for the PSP to begin charging, then try and power on the PSP system.
--If the PSP does not power on with the battery plugged in, but it did with just the charger, you need a new battery. If it powers on, do the next step.
5. Place the Memory Stick inside the PSP , and turn on the power. If the PSP does not turn on, but it turned on without the memory, you need a new memory stick.

If your PSP did not turn on during step 2, your PSP is bricked and indeed needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

Psp wont start

Might be the memory card inserted on your psp causing the issue, try to turn on your psp while the memory card is not inserted.

Psp broke

i dont believe this is a bricked issue. it cold be a short on the board or wiring some where inside. this noticable if it works after you lightly tap it like mine. but once it comes on it usally will stay on tapping a briked psp does nothing.

Psp

it sounds like you have a docking station? if so try using the charger that came with it.(make sure whatever the charger is plugged into has power and dont assume if its on a power stip and other things that are plugged have power doesnt mean one outlet on the strip can go bad. If trying another charger doesnt work try a new battery keep the reciept in case it still doesnt so you can return the battery. If none of these tips help then your psp (MAY) have taken a crash.

Power problems

Hi Gohan102,

Open the battery compartment, and remove the battery.  Look at the bottom inside corner for a little square sticker with has marks on it. is it dark or light,  If it is dark, your PSP has come in contact with moisture. I suspect that your PSP has gotten wet or damp.  If the sticker is dark, you need to keep your battery out for about 2 days, and keep the UMD door open and the whole PSP kept in a dry environment.  Try it after 2 days of drying to see if it is recovered. Good luck Gohan....

Psp wont turn on

If you are somebody another person had done the mistake while updating your PSP. For eg: 1) Removed the battery. 2) Unplugged the charger of your PSP. 3) Removed the UMD. then it is possible that your PSP is bricked it means it is useless untill you replace the motherboard with a new one.
