This sounds like the idle control solenoid has become misadjusted. To check that this is the case, locate the throttle lever and follow it back towards the governor arm until you find the solenoid. Start the generator and switch on the idle control while watching the governor arm where it passes near the solenoid, if the arm snaps back and forth you probably have a bad adjustment. To readjust the solenoid loosen the jam nut on the core of the solenoid just enough that you can turn the core by the square bit on the end. Adjust the core 1/4 turn or so at a time until the governor arm stays in position when the idle control is on, then turn idle control off and make sure that the governor arm goes back to the full throttle position. You may have to fiddle with the adjustment a little until you find the right spot. Tighten the jam nut back down and you're good to go.

20 hp honda 10000 kva porter cable, make electricty put will not speed up under a load stays at idle.give it gas at the carb. by hand and it will run a power tool ect. Thanks

You most likely have a problem with the Automatic Idle control circuit. I suspect the controller as the source of the problem but it can be the Rotary Solenoid (Servo) that is open. Try turning off the automatic idle control switch and see if the generator runs at normal speed. If it does then you can troubleshoot the solenoid by disconnecting the wires and applying battery power. Reverse the power connections on the battery and see if it drives the opposite way. Reverse them again and it should again drive in the opposite direction. If it moves... the problem is the most likely the controller. If you pass your model number I can pass you a sournce for parts.
I am guessing this is an S-10000 model at the moment.

Thanks,
Kelly

Have a EB5000X generator which has staring problems, aprx 8 yrs old and not used a great deal until hurricane Ike came thru here and it ran for several days with minimal down time. Afterwards I changed the...

If I understand the problem correctly, it runs fine after you cleaned the carb, but the auto idle will not engage when you put a load on it. First if it has a switch to turn the auto idle off try that. if it does not rev up, then the magnetic controller is stuck. There is a magnetic coil which is connected to the throttle and this either pulls or releases the throttle when load is applied. My guess is that this is hung up a bit. Look for a small round coil with wires coming off it that is connected to the throttle assembly. You could also try tracing the wire from the auto idle switch backwards. This may just be stuck in the idle position by corrosion. especially if you live in a humid area or one near the ocean. gently try to work it a bit by hand (when the generator is not running) and try a bit of wd40 or the like.

WHO MANUFACTURES THE ENGINE FOR THE BUFFALO TOOLS GENERATOR EX: 4000 W OR 10000 W SIMPLY PUT WHAT KIND OF ENGINE IS ON ANY OF THEM

There have been several factories in china that have made the motors used on buffalo generators, a couple of these are Lifan and J.D. as in Jiangdong. All of these motors are very similar to honda motors. The 6.5,13,and 15 h.p. motors are real brutes and hold up very well.

Heater will not stay on rm60 reddy heater

When you say the heater is coming on does it actually ignite or is the motor just running until the safety circuit kicks it off? The air pump on you heater should blow at 3.5 to 4 psi which runs up to the nozzle which is a venturi which sucks the fuel out of the tank. The motor will generally run for 20 to 30 seconds trying to ignite. If the flame sensor does not sufficient flame during the time it shuts the motor off. Check these items and let me know what you find.

Htr shuts off after awhile and won't come back on till it's cooled down

I had the same problem with my heater. It was a cracked fuel line. I replaced the rubber hoses. On mine there was a pick up hose and a feed hose. They were dry cracked. Works great now. Hope that helps you out.
