New laptop does not have a disc drive, can not download disc , is there a FREE solution? I have software #

You don't need the Pentax software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program, such as the free Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

You can easily download pics using a separate card reader. You don't need the camera or the missing cd. 69ce415.jpg

Pentax x70 operating manual in russian

Good Afternoon,
After extensive searching for you, I am only able to come up with manuals in English, French and Spanish.
For some reason they do not list the X70 model on the pentax.ru site, however you should be able to translate the pages using Google translator from the English version of the manual.
It will often say that the document is too large but if you break it down (I think pages 47-61 should be good enough... it's the quick start and basic settings section) you should have more luck.
I hope this helps a bit.

Pentax Optio M20

Go to the home page of your camera. Look up what you need, download it and install if necessary.

It appears you want to download pictures to the camera.
Another way to download your pictures is with a card reader at most electronics stores, including Radio Shack, Best Buy, Office Max, and so on.

Lost Cd

Actually, if you're using XP you should not need the disc at all to shoot & download images. If you're looking for software so you can crop & that sort of thing, I recommend googles Picasa program, its free. To download images without the disc simply connect the camera like you have in the past and XP will find the device & walk you thru downloading images, usually. If not, click on "my computer" and you should find your camera/device listed there. Personally, I use a card reader and take my memory card out and download the images using the reader.
