One day i turned on my kodak easyshare v803 and i couldnt see anything on the screen... everything else worked fine, it made the normal sounds and things. it let me take a picture. when i looked at the screen closer it seemed the screen was not broken but the backlight was, i could see things but it was very dark. is this a common problem and is it fixable? could i fix it myself?

could be a faulty capacitor or the software needs to be updated. The manufacture will repair it for $50, otherwise you may get lucky enough to find a download on the web. Sometimes the zoom gets stuck and needs to be blown out or jiggled to work again.
