    same problem
I looked into what the problem could be and it points to 3 diferant boards. pa,dg,and h
i dont want to have to buy all three

can anyone shed some light on subject

The solution is to not buy Panasonic again or get the extended warrenty. My 10 blinks and pause Panajunket will sit bundled up while I watch my new Westinghouse 47" LCD. PJ is only 1-1/2 years old and used to watch DVD's only. Oh, and the rattling vibration when the sound turned up, not blasting sounds.

My husband was watching his TH-42px60U and it just went off, blowing a circuit with it. My husband fixed the circuit, but the TV won't come back on. The power indicator light blinks 10 times. My husband called Panasonic Support and was told that this is a service issue, and a TV service repairman will have to be called.

i have the same problem... it blew the 2 fuses. i put 2 new fuses in it and know it blinks 10 times with nothing hooked up.  any ideas?

  • Anonymous Jan 31, 2009

i popped 2 fuses and have the blinking 10 lights. anyonoe know what board to replace, the pa or h? anyone know where i can get them??

  • Anonymous Jan 31, 2009

I had the same problem and it was a bad power supply board! If you can't afford to have it replaced I was asking to purchase your set. I just really needed the display panel but will purchase the whole thing if you so desire. Again, I had the same symptons and the problem was a bad power supply board.

    Thanks for asking.

i thought the power supply board is something different.

    nebster,

I checked the resistance on the two white ceramic resisters and one doesn't have any resistance. It most be the power supply board. I will post my outcome soon.

    Thanks for your help.

On a Panasonic TV the 10-blink error code can sometimes be caused by low voltage running through an HDMI cable, particularly from a Media PC or some video game consoles. Try disconnecting any HDMI cables and unplugging the Television for 30 seconds, then power it on without the cables attached.

If this works, connect the cables to the front panel (usually HDMI-3) which uses a different controller board.

My TH-42PX60U power went out suddenly as well. I replaced the fuses (after removing the rear cover panel) and then saw the 10 blinking power light. Blinks 10 times, pauses, blinks 10 more times and so on. I replaced the power supply board, good price from River Valley Electronics, and that solved the problem. TV is back on line. I took a chance that this might solve the problem after seeing that advice from another post. Cheaper than buying a new TV.

Well the problem was solved with a simple kit i found online
there was a open 10ohm resistor and a shorted transistor. Q406- transistor and the R410 resistor take a dvm and test them on your psu. if you have decent soldering skills im sure you can repair your tv your self for well under $40.

Where did you find the kit at?

Most likely is the power board,so I hope you got a good one! The next would be a short on the SC board. The main digital board could be defective in mis diagnostic. Disconnect the SC board and see if the blink code changes. if it changes, the main board is good. If you have a good power board,I vote for a short on the SC board to be checked

Tcp42x1 wont power on, red light blinks 7 time

hello, one thing that is good is that these panasonics have a safety fualt feature the light blinks and the number of blinks indicate what board is affected. the best way to find out what to exchange is by aquiring a service manual for your brand and model tv then review the service manual it will tell you according the the blinks what to replace or what board is bad..hope this helps..

TH-42PX60U wont turn on. Blinks 10 times. replaced the power supply board, but the same issue.

What I'm learning is there are several models of Panasonic TV's that have a video card that doesn't play well with HDMI applications and the end result is, you need to call this number and not only make arrangements to replace the bad board, but also this!
Your model doesn't show below, but I'd certinly inquire about the necessity of a "Firmware" update!,,,Panasonic knows FULL WELL they have a HUGE problem here!
Hope this helps!

At panasonic.ca I found the listing for the fw update under customer support-important notices

I have the same problem Panasonic Plasma TV wont come.

Alot of times capacitors on the power supply circuit board will go bad. They will bulge/dome or dry up which will cause this problem. Bad caps dont hold a charge, which is needed to maintain a voltage. The circuit board is two sided which makes replacing the caps difficult, and the board can be damaged and have to be replaced. Taking it to a repair shop may be cheeper and safer then doing it yourself. Having two-six caps replaced is a lot cheeper then a new board.

Panasonic TH-42PX60U plasma TV: red blinking light

are you using a PC to feed a signal or maybe a cable with an adapter?
I had the same issue when I used one of the rear HDMI ports to show a PC display. Apparently there is a software difference between the rear and side/front ports. Inputting the PC through the side HDMI port has solved the problem for me (so far!)
