WHEN YOU SEND A FAX IT LEAVES A LINE HALF INCH BLANK DOWN THE RIG

clean the LED array with a soft cloth or tissue or the alcohol wipe that comes with new toner cartridges if you still have it. open the cover to expose the drum on the bottom side of cover is a black bar(LED ARRAY) as wide as the drum but about a half inch thick wipe the bottom side that will face the drum when the cover is closed

Open up the document feeder and clean the small glass. If the line is more than 1/4 inch wide you have a bad scanner block.

Pop open the fax document feeder, and look for a glass strip about 1cm wide, that runs from left to right across the machine.
You will probably see a few spots of dirt, or more commonly, a blob of white liquid paper stuck on the glass, on the side of the machine that corresponds to the black lines on your fax.
Clean this glass strip gently, using a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent. I often use diluted windex. You may need to scrape liquid paper gently with your fingernail. Close the cover.

Next, put a blank sheet into the feeder and make a copy of the blank page. If you have cleaned it properly, the copy will be blank as well. If you still have a line, align it with the feeder and use this as a guide to show you where the glass may still have some **** stuck on it.

INSPECT THE DOCUMENT READER GLASS THIS SOMETIMES GETS WHITE OUT OR OTHER JUNK ON ON THE LENS AND LEAVES A VOID AREA.

if your RECEIVED faxes look good, then leroyal is dead on. you will need a new CIS which stands for contact image sensor. if you have an authorized brother service center nearby, they may be able to do it for 100 to 150.00, depending on their pricing of course. if rec'd faxes are bad also, pull drum out and make sure the blue tab on top of drum is all the way to the right side, although that usually only leaves about a 1/2" black band.

Dear sir; Try to pullout the drum unit, see have anything block the scan path( such as paper chip) or check the heat roller is there have torn paper wind up.

- Remove Toner and Drum Unit and you will see the glass. Try to clean it.

Its easy to fix. Turn the machine off, then look in the area where the copies comeout. Where you reach your hand in to remove the copies or received faxs. Squat down and look on the inderside of the scanner in that area. You will see ONE green item, it is the scan lock. It's about an inch and a half long and about a half inch wide. Shove it in, toward the back of the machine, then pull it out toward you until it snaps back. It may be a bit tight and may require a pretty decent pull back.
Once you snap it toward you, turn the machine back on and it should be ready to go.

when trying to copy or receive a fax machine will flash printer error and send out blank page i replaced the ink cartridge and blue air tho it but nothing seems to help

If it's blank, is this on what you send/recieve?

Also if you print something like a status sheet, is it missing on those too? If so, your print head needs replacing.

If its on copies/sents you need to clean the scanner head.
