Waterpump impellar removal

If the impeller has never been removed it may not come off. Impellers unthread counter clockwise off the shaft of the impeller by putting a big flat head screw driver on the motor end of shaft.
If they have been on there for years they can become rusted onto the threads of the motor shaft.
At that point if it will not unthread then you will need to break it off.

The impeller is threaded onto the motor shaft. On 2hp motors and above, there is usually a screw with reverse threads to help secure impeller to shaft. To remove impeller, first remove screw(reverse threads) Next, remove back cover off motor. The shaft either has a slot for a screwdriver or flats for a wrench. Hold shaft and unscrew impeller.

The impellar spins off counterclockwise on most pumps. The hard parts are holding the motor shaft from rotating and finding a way to grip the impellar.

I'm not sure I understand your question.
To get the impellar off of the shaft, leave the motor bolts on.
Open the back end of the motor, there should be a slot in the motor shaft. Use a screwdriver to hold the shaft from rotating and grab the impellar and rotate it counterclockwise to unscrew it.
It sounds easy, but the impellar is probably somewhat corroded on.

I have never taken this pump apart.
If I were in your position and I could move the impellar 1/8 turn, the next thing that I would do is carefully loosen the nut on the end of the shaft being careful that nothing else disassembles. Once this nut is loose say 2 turns, try the impellar again watching what is moving. It seems that the nut may have to be removed.
Also, I'm not sure which way the nut of the impellar rotates to remove, but you seem to have that under control since you have it moving already.

Check to see if you have a center screw in the impeller. If you do then it will be a left handed screw. You will turn it clockwise to get it out. Then I will usually take a screwdriver and insert it on the left side of the impeller. Then give the screwdriver a good sharp hit downward to break the impeller free, then just unscrew it. The brass center on the impeller will stick to the stainless steel on the motor shaft and you just have to break it free.
If this dosn't work then remove the back of the motor and get a wrench on the back of the shaft, then find a way to grab the impeller and unscrew. Good luck

Remove back cover from motor. Hold shaft stationary with wrench or screwdriver(depends on motor) Unscrew impeller. Some impellers have a screw in the middle securing it to shaft. The screw is reverse thread.

disconnect power take pump out remove front plate take back cover off motor use 7/16 wrench to hold shaft unless it has a place for a flat head screw driver at the back of the motor while holding shaft unscrew impellar counter clockwise take shaft seal off impellar make sure rubber gromet comes off with seal take back seal plate off motor by unscrewing bolts thru back of motor should be 4 knock out ceramic ring replace ceramic ring with rubber side toward plate reinstal back plate install seal on impeller with with flat side with rubber gromet toward back of impellar. screw impeller back on holding shaft if the shaft is rusty and pitted clean off with sand paper b4 reinstalling impellar lube up oring around front plate screw back tight and reinstal pump.

The impellar will screw off with a clockwise rotation and the new one installed with a counter-clockwise movement.
